Tinder Will Now Tell You if Your Pictures Suck
There are two types of Tinder swipers, those who swipe in rapid-fire mode, and those who carefully peruse through each user’s photos to decide if they’re worth a right swipe or not.
But thankfully, now you won’t have to agonize about making a good impression with your first Tinder pic, your “profile pic” if you will, because Tinder will choose it for you.
But why should you trust Tinder? I mean, this is the same app that thought instilling a Snapchat-like feature would be a good idea, when it really just resulted in thousands of dick pics that nobody asked for.
But Tinder isn’t making the decision, your potential matches are.
Tinder’s new software allows them to determine which of your photos are liked the most by other Tinder users, and they then arrange your photos so that the “best” ones are in the forefront.
“Smart Photos takes into account each individual’s swiping pattern when selecting which photos they’ll see first,” says a blog post on Tinder’s site. “It’s a system that gets smarter with more input: the more you swipe and the more you’re swiped on, the better the algorithm serves you.”
In Tinder’s testing of the feature, they saw a 12 percent increase in matches.
I mean, honestly, you probably get a shit load of matches anyway because you’re a bad bitch. So what does this mean for you? Well, think about it. You’ll no longer have to swipe through a guy’s photos longer than you have to because you can’t tell if he’s cute by the super zoomed out profile pic of him skydiving. Which means you’ll spend less time, get better matches, and find more boy toys! Yay technology!
Girls know their best angles, their best filters, and which photos showcase their boobs the best. Guys on the other hand for some reason think it’s a great idea to put a pic of their baby brother, alone, as their profile pic. Another fan favorite is the dude’s who put a pic of a famous football player or soccer star as their profile picture. Um…how about no?
Hopefully this new Tinder feature will eliminate all the dumb pictures that guys put up in attempts at wooing matches. At the least, it’ll def save you time when searching for Mr. Right Now.
