Tinder Launched a Desktop Version So You Can Secretly Scheme At Work
Back in the day, Tinder was revolutionary. Not only because they diminished “online dating” to a swipe-fest based on who you think is bangable, but also because they made dating apps non-embarrassing.
How did they manage this? By launching an app that was only accessible via smartphone, thereby making it much more casual than sitting at home on your computer and answering 100 questions about your deepest desires.
But now, they’re flipping the switch and actually launching a desktop version, Tinder Online, after all these years of making one night stands blossom. Why? Well, so that you can use Tinder at work discreetly, obviously.

Tinder’s Head of Product, Brian Norgard, told Tech Crunch that one purpose for Tinder Online is to serve users who may not have enough storage or data on their phone to scroll through hotties on the go. He also said that it’ll help “power users” have an easier time with the app.
I don’t know WTF a power user is on Tinder, but I want to know if there’s a way I can make sure I don’t match with any of them.

In a blog post on Tinder’s site, they give the real reason why they’re launching Tinder Online, so that you can still plan that night’s sexcapade even when you’re not allowed to be on your phone.
From Tinder’s blog:
“Introducing Tinder Online: a fun, new web experience and your English professor’s worst nightmare. Mobile phones not allowed in class? Just fire up your laptop and swipe incognito. Cubicle life got you down? Now you can toggle between spreadsheets and Super Likes in a flash. “Not Enough Storage?” Not a problem. Don’t let life get in the way of your Tinder game.”
*Cringes*
Alright ya’ll, I have a crazy idea for you. Maybe instead of secretly swiping through eligible bachelors while pretending to take Biology notes in class, you can actually talk to your hot lab partner. Instead of being burrowed in “work” at the office, you can go out to happy hour and finally conversate with the cute dude that works in the office across the hall.
Or, you know, you can start dedicating your life to getting as many Tinder matches as possible. Whatever floats your boat.

Also, there’s one catch, Tinder Online is not exactly incognito. If your teacher gets one glance behind your laptop screen, she’s going to know exactly what you’re doing. Check out the video below and let us know how you’re going to explain that one to your boss, kay?
