Brock Turner Wants to Speak About ‘Promiscuity & Drinking’ at a College Near You
Lots of people who make huge mistakes turn it into something lucrative, like the dudes who talk to high schools about drunk driving or the women who go to rehab centers to talk about their past drug addictions. They know they fucked up, they fixed it, and now they’re at least making money to talk about all the dumb shit they did.
Brock Turner is someone who also made a huge mistake, which is putting it lightly. He ignored anything he’s ever learned about consent, and he was convicted of sexually assaulting a girl who was incoherent. And now he’s trying to profit from it by becoming a public speaker.
This is already a touchy subject, because I think most everybody who uses the internet hates Brock Turner. But maybe, just maybe, if he showed serious remorse in his speaking and used his idiotic past to educate dudes on what consent means, it could make up for it.
But instead, Turner’s speaking engagements will be focused on “drinking and promiscuity,” according to The Huffington Post.
Yes, I’ll give you a moment to process that, because it’s unbelievable. Is he trying to piss people off? Or is he really just that stupid?
Hey Brock Turner, if you’re reading this, let me remind you: Alcohol doesn’t rape girls, neither do short skirts or hook-up culture. Guys like you rape girls.
You can’t blame your decision to sexually assault an inebriated girl on the alcohol, this isn’t a T-Pain song, this is real life. If you want to stop being one of the most hated men in America, you’re probably going to have to swallow your pride and admit that you fucked up.
