How to Glow Up Using Coffee Grounds

We’ve all wanted to try those popular Pinterest DIY posts, where beauty experts make everything look so simple and easy. But when we try to recreate those fabulous recipes ourselves we realize half the ingredients are a lot more expensive than we thought.

But the key ingredient to jolting up your beauty regimen might be a simple staple in your morning routine, coffee. Not only is coffee cruelty free and environmentally friendly, but any brand of joe gives you the same transforming results.

1. Facial scrub

Coffee grounds have a naturally abrasive feel, making them the perfect exfoliate ingredient. The texture will not only remove layers of dead skin cells, but the caffeine that is naturally infused will be directly absorbed into your skin. This wallet saving facial will leave you intensely moisturized and rejuvenated as if you just drank a shot of espresso. Mix the ingredients below in a small bowl, adding less oil to enhance the abrasiveness if you want, and store in an airtight container.

2. Hair Color Refresher

Skin care isn’t the only DIY beauty product you can make using coffee grounds. Give your brown locks a natural pop of color minus the thousands of harmful chemicals found in processed hair dyes. Blend the mixture, and with a wide tooth comb, brush evenly from root to tip. A shower cap and an hour later and you will have yourself a healthy, chocolate glow while spending only a fraction of the cost.
