How Gigi Hadid Made the First Move on a Post-Breakup Zayn
There’s a long-running debate within the girl community about whether or not it’s a total no-no to make the first move on a guy.
While some more progressive souls like myself would argue whatever, who cares, follow your bliss, old-fashioned girls insist on playing by the same rules our mothers and grandmothers adhered to.
But the joke’s on them, because Gigi, just like me, made the first move on her boyfriend and is still dating him today.

During Gigi’s first ever stop by The Ellen Degeneres Show, Gigi explained how their courtship went down.
“We actually met at a friend’s birthday party a few years ago,” Gigi told Ellen, referring to a time in the distant past when Zayn was still engaged to Perrie Edwards.
“Then he was in New York to come to the Victoria’s Secret show last year, I think, and ended up not coming,” Gigi continued, “and then later that week we ended up going on our first date.”
Mind you, he’d just broken off his engagement to Perrie Edwards at the time.
Gigi didn’t mess around.
When Ellen asked her if Zayn played it cool, Gigi responded, “We [both] played it cool for about ten minutes and then I was like, ‘You’re really cute.’”
And the rest, as they say, was bliss.
Gigi and Zayn have one of those rare celebrity loves that doesn’t make me want to vom or roll my eyes.
He genuinely seems obsessed with her and that’s the kind of love I think we all should all aspire to have.

So next time you and your friends get into a hot debate about whether or not it’s a mistake for girls to make the first and when they counter, “yeah, but she’s a supermodel,” you just tell them, “in the right guy’s eyes, we should all be supermodels.”
