Oh my Gucci, I don’t know what to do with you anymore.
To kick off Milan Fashion Week, Gucci decided to unleash glittery ski masks and what I can only describe as cutout wrestling singlets on the world and call it fashion.
Clearly, Gucci got the same YOLO memo as the rest of young Hollywood and decided to really go for it.

In his notes for the show, Gucci’s head designer Alessandro Michele referenced the Ouroboros, an ancient Egyptian symbol of a snake eat its own tail. This just reinforces the idea that right now, literally everything that’s ever been in fashion is in fashion.
80s high-waisted leotards? All your favorite celebrities have been wearing them all year.
90s Clueless plaid? Spotted walking down the runway at Marc Jacobs.
2000s lace-up pants? Seen on Bella Hadid just last week.
Shearling coats circa 2017? Yeah, Yeezy had that trend covered.
Come to think of it, this is probably the real reason why young Hollywood has been dressing so bizarrely recently.
It’s not just that they know they can get away with wearing the most out there outfits their little minds can think up, but that the fashion world is literally telling them they can wear anything they want because everything is in fashion.
But at least I’ll say this, unlike all the other major designers who’ve already shown at their respective fashion week, Gucci’s show wasn’t a boring parade of the same of-the-moment trends everybody’s already wearing anyway.
It may be all over the place, but at least it’s something different.
