Fashion Week is one of those things that looks very different depending on who’s experiencing it.
For Brittany Sky, it makes perfect sense. The New York-born DJ, creator, and tastemaker already lives somewhere between fashion, music, beauty, and nightlife, so NYFW feels less like entering another world and more like moving through one she already understands.
This season took her from the sharp, sexy world of LaQuan Smith to the color and attitude of Kim Shui’s Hudson River presentation — with the clothes, people, music, and general chaos of Fashion Week happening somewhere in between.
And maybe that’s what makes Brittany’s perspective interesting. She isn’t just documenting what came down the runway. She’s capturing everything around it: the mood, the movement, the getting dressed, the getting there, and the very New York experience of somehow making all of it look effortless.

“With the snow falling along the Hudson River, the show felt bold against the cold. I couldn’t stop noticing the deep greens, strong reds, and warm orange tones. I’ve honestly been craving more color in collections, and she gave just that. The knot details, gold tassels, and faux fur added so much texture. I also loved seeing so many New Yorkers from my city on the boat, all seated and taking it in. Between the long nails, big (or sleek) hair, and that mean walk, the whole thing felt powerful and confident in the best way. Every look gave cool, but grown and sexy!”

“To me Laquan Smith’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection felt like a scene straight out of a film: dark, cinematic, and powerful. Rich tones and luxe textures set the mood, while structured suit jackets, sharp skirts, and tailored slacks made a statement: I mean business, but still sexy. The balance of precision and fluidity gave each look authority without losing allure. Oh, and the soundtrack was the icing on the cake, pulling the entire moment together. You just had to be there!”
