Summer ’17 swim lewks that won’t leave you with horrid tan lines
Swimwear is in a crazy place right now.
On one hand, it’s awesome that we have so many options for swimsuits this summer. On the other hand, so many new swim silhouette trends are unflattering, impractical, and will leave absolutely horrendous tan lines.
But, there’s a way to show that you’re up to date on this season’s swim lewks without risking the Instagram model equivalent of a farmer’s tan. Here are some suits that incorporate summer ’17 trends with more classic – and skimpy silhouettes that will give all your bits an even tan line.
1. This Velvet BB
This suit is v 90s and trendy in it’s faux-velvet fabrication, but it’s still a pretty standard cut so that you won’t end up with a dumb tan circle on your tummy.
2. This Asymmetrical Wonder
Sources say you’re about to see one-shoulder tops all summer, but what about asymmetrical bikini tops? This bikini takes on a very unique shape without leaving you with crazy tan lines. Sure, you’ll have a thicker tan line on shoulder than the other, but chances are nobody will notice that except you.
3. This Fishnet Thang
We’re so here for fishnet swimwear, and this suit works it in a way that won’t leave you with a bizarre pattern spanning your abdomen. Just make sure to put lotion on before slipping the suit on.
4. The Relatively Normal One Piece
Have you ever noticed that your stomach gets way tanner than the rest of your body? There’s really no harm in giving your tummy tan a day off, and this one piece manages to be trendy without having weird straps and other shit to ruin your tan line.
5. This Itsy Bitsy Ribbed Bikini
Kylie Jenner’s bringing back the wife beater, and the ribbed look is being sold in everything from dresses to bikinis. This suit is teeny tiny, white, and serious bombshell material that won’t leave you looking like a zebra if you get sunburnt.
6. This Pin-Up Lewk
Gingham is a big print for the summer, and a ‘lil bikini is the perf way to work it into your wardrobe without looking like a ’50s housewife.
7. A Crochet Kini
If you haven’t noticed by now, a key way to keep a basic suit looking trendy is the fabrication. Crochet suits are still on the cool radar even if they’re not huge this summer, which means that by rocking a suit like this one, you’ll look different from all your friends in velvet wedgie bikinis at the beach, and also not end up with a stupid tan line.
8. This Metallic Scuba Gear
Is this more than I’d ever spend on a bikini? Absolutely. Does that mean it’s not cute, trendy, and safe to give you normal tan lines? Def not. If you’re bad and bougie, buy this.
Lace-up has been everywhere, but a little detail on an otherwise basic bikini can go a long way – just make sure to swipe those tassels out of the way when you’re laying out by the pool.
10: For those looking for barely any tan lines…
If getting minimal tanlines is your real goal, may we recommend a suit from Yandy’s micro bikini collection? They’re perfect for tanning all sides of your boobs, plus potentially your labia if you’re into that sort of thing! Oh, and metallic is v on trend rn.
