Rihanna Cleared Up Those Beyoncé Shade Rumors on Insta
While we didn’t think Rihanna not getting a Grammy nomination for Song of the Year or Album of the Year was scandalous, her fan base did — and for a hot second there, it looked like Rihanna did too.
Shortly after the nominations were announced, a Riri stan wrote an Instagram post about how Rihanna had been robbed, and how it was probably because the Grammys are Team Yoncé — and Rihanna liked it.
Understandably, this threw her Navy into a frenzy, but Rihanna now says she never actually read the post she commented on, she just saw a funny picture of her boobs and decided to throw it a like.
Commenting on the post hours later, Rihanna wrote:
“I never actually read your caption, thought the pic was funny and moved right along! I’m petty af, yes. But this is just unnecessary! I wish y’all would drop this topic and see things from the bigger picture! We don’t need to be putting black women against each other! We deserve to be celebrated, and the Grammy Academy agrees!”
#RiRi responds under the picture she liked that had the #Beyhive and #Navy going crazy to clear things up. #Grammys #Beyonce #Rihanna pic.twitter.com/xw7wgMwJTe

While we initially thought this was too good to be true — especially because the account Rihanna responded to was a private one so we conveniently couldn’t see the comments — don’t worry, we verified this one ourselves, something even Vogue didn’t seem to have the time to do this morning.
Here’s my screenshot of Rihanna’s comment.
So there you go.
Rihanna never meant to shade Beyoncé, and she wants us all to be bigger people and stop creating so much drama.
Guess there’s always room for one more New Years Resolution we’re destined not to follow through on, right?
