Nordstrom Is Dropping Ivanka Trump’s Clothing Line
Sorry Ivanka, you just got fired, or at least your clothing line did.
Yesterday, fancy anchor store in every major mall across America Nordstom announced they wouldn’t be selling Ivanka Trump’s clothing line anymore because it’s selling about as well as a cold sack of potatoes in a Gucci store.
Which is to say, it’s not selling very well at all.
This is the official Nordstrom statement, obviously crafted in a way so as to try and not ruffle the feathers of our temper tantrum tweet-prone president:
“We’ve got thousands of brands — more than 2,000 offered on the site alone. Reviewing their merit and making edits is part of the regular rhythm of our business. Each year we cut about 10% and refresh our assortment with about the same amount. In this case, based on the brand’s performance we’ve decided not to buy it for this season.”
But, the statement’s missing a crucial component: people didn’t spontaneously decide they’d rather not be associated with the first family on their own, because there was a movement whose explicit goal was to make Ivanka’s brand sell like a bag of cold potatoes.

The #GrabYourWallet campaign — which as you might expect given its name, popped up after Trump said when you’re famous, you can grab women by their lady flowers — was likely behind the whole thing.
The women behind the campaign, Shannon Coulter and Sue Atencio, created a spreadsheet of retailers who do business with the Trump fan, and Nordstrom was voted the most boycott-able company on the list.
Clearly, that poll turned out to be accurate.
The spreadsheet encourages people to not only stop shopping at a wide array of companies, but also to call them up on the telephone and tell them why they’re not gonna throw your money at them anymore.

Even though Ivanka wasn’t the actual Trump who said men can grab women and do what they want with him, Coulter correctly pointed out Ivanka, “made her father palatable to many young female voters, and her being on the campaign trail, and returning to campaign with him after the Trump tapes, has as much to do with her ambitions as it has to do with her father’s.”
Just like Britney Spears, Ivanka Trump is not that innocent.
Currently, Nordstroms still has a total of four shoes from Ivanka’s clothing brand available on their site, most of which are 40% and available in a wide variety of sizes.
Of course, all of this would be slightly more meaningful if Ivanka you know, hadn’t already resigned from her fashion label about a month ago, but what can you do?

So far neither Donald nor Ivanka Trump have made a statement about Nordstrom’s statement, but if they do, we bet it’ll be 140 characters or less and retweeted thousands of times.
