Miley Claims She Was the ‘Least Paid Person’ on Hannah Montana
Believe it or not, but Miley Cyrus, the face that launched millions of dollars worth of Hannah Montana merchandise, claims that she was the least paid person on Hannah Montana. Or at least she “probably” was “at one point.”
“I did not grow up spoiled in any way,” Cyrus told Elle magazine, “I just wanted to be on TV. I mean, at one point — they’ll probably kill me for saying it — I was probably the least paid person on my cast because I didn’t know any better. I was just like, ‘I can be on Disney! Yeah, I want to do it!'”
This makes sense. She was only 12 years old at the time and her father was just a one hit wonder. What did he know about besides achey breaky hearts?
“My name was Miley on the show, but I didn’t own my name — we didn’t think about that,” Miley continued, adding, “My mom started understanding how many people take advantage of a child, so she hired smart people to protect me in that way. I’m happy that when I was younger, people protected me and put me in a position where I can now control my music.”
We’re guessing that at this point she stopped being the least paid person on her cast and started making millions of dollars a year while slowly beginning to dream of the day when she could kill Hannah Montana and start dancing with molly and licking industrial equipment for kicks.
Still, let this be a cautionary tale to all of us.
Disney is the devil and will try to rip you off when you’re a baby and then kill you for telling the world about it when you’re an adult.
But then again, they’ll also put you into a position where you can continue to make millions way into your 20s, so maybe it’s still worth sucking up.
Disney, we just don’t know how to quit you.
