Lexie: Let’s take it back to the beginning — where are you from?
Amber: I was born in South Philly. Born and raised.
Lexie: Do you have siblings?
Amber: I do, but they’re way younger. They were born when I was 15.
Lexie: Did you go to public school?
Amber: I went to a disgusting little public school in Philly. There were like, roaches. Our books were from 1970, and missing pages.

Lexie: Street smarts though…makes you wise.
Amber: I would listen to people that were articulate. I wouldn’t know words they said, but I’d want to figure out how to use them, and that’s how I learned.
Lexie: Did you ever have a barista type first job?
Amber: My first job was McDonald’s. It was the best fucking job ever! I worked the cash register. It was really busy and the time went by really fast.
Lexie: So like, your friends came by, and you could give them stuff?
Amber: Hell yeah. It was fire!

Lexie: So, what was your next job after that?
Amber: Stripping.
Lexie: Hell yeah. Was that just a money decision?
Amber: Yeah. I grew up in a very poor neighborhood. My neighborhood was drug dealers, strippers, junkies…this girl was a stripper. She had all the dope bags, a nice car, and I was young. Everyone else was hustling. I tried to sell drugs, but they said I was too pretty and I’d get robbed!
