The 16 Most Dramatic Kardashian Moments of 2016
For the Kardashian family, this year was one for the books — and based on their recent media shyness, we might not see as much of them as we did this year ever again.
Since Kim Kardashian’s robbery at gunpoint and Kanye’s mental health issues, it’s been tough to tell what the Kardashians’ strategy will be from here on out. But if 2016 was their last year letting it all hang out, they certainly went out with a bang.
Here are their 17 most scandalous moments of the year.
1. Kourtney Kardashian hung out with Justin Bieber.
Nothing says FU to your ex better than a hot body and a fling with an even hotter guy, especially if that guy happens to be 15 years younger and, well, Justin Bieber. In early 2016, Kourtney was spotted hitting the town with the pop sensation himself and the media was swarming with romance rumors. Things got even weirder when they were spotted hanging with Justin’s former flame Hailey Baldwin and Kourtney’s sister/Justin’s past rumored fling, Kendall Jenner. While neither of them actually confirmed the suspected romance, we’ll never be able to come up with a reason for why these two would ever have to hang out.
2. Those Balmain outfits.
Leave it to the Kardashians to officially kick off 2016 with a stupidly dramatic, all matching entrance at Kanye’s Yeezy Season 3 show at Madison Square Garden. This glorious day was jam-packed with moments that had the press absolutely freaking. From Lamar’s first public appearance alongside his ex-in-laws (we’re still confused), to Scott’s intentional absence from the show, to the most utterly jaw dropping, earth-shattering event of all: Kim wearing a blonde wig. The world as we knew it would never be the same.
3. The first photo of Saint West is released.
So, It’s really more that the rest of the world was overly dramatic about this one, but I think that the first photo of Saint was more anticipated than the birth of Prince George of Cambridge. On the morning of February 22nd, 2016 the long awaited first photo of Saint West was released on Kim’s official website and the universe pretty much erupted.
4. Rob and Chyna unveil their uncomfortable romance that we all really wish would go away.
It like couldn’t be, could it? It could. In February of this glorious year, Rob decided to publicly unveil his romantic involvement with his little sister’s, boyfriend’s baby mama, which in turn caused an uproar amongst his sisters and the rest of mankind. The social media feud was hotter than ever and Kylie like literally couldn’t have felt more betrayed. She had no idea what was coming.
5. Kim posts an old nude selfie and everyone and their mother bursts into flames.
In March, everyone acted like they’d never seen Kim naked before and freaked the absolute fuck out when she posted a throwback nude selfie. Literally EVERYONE. This one, simple photo ignited an all out feminist war and even a bunch of celebrities got involved in the drama. While some super chill celebs like Sharon Osbourne posted their own nude selfies in support, others like Chloe Grace Moretz started a full on Twitter battle with Kim.
6. Kim and Emily Ratajkowski post another NSFW selfie on Twitter.
It’s no secret that Kim is a savage and that if you tell her not to do something, odds are she’s gonna do it a million times harder than she originally planned. After much heated backlash, Kim took a topless selfie with gal pal Emily Ratajkowski as a giant FU to everyone that gave her sh*t. Nothing says #girlpower like taking nudes with your bff.
7. Kim upstages “Lemonade” and a wedding by posting super sexual pictures on Snapchat and Instagram.
In April, it was clear that Kim was suffering from attention withdrawal and needed to take back the publicity throne by posting a series of v uncomfortably sexual photos. Throughout the course of a wedding in Miami, Kim snapped and Instagrammed a bunch of black and white photos featuring her and Kanye tonguing each other, friends grabbing each other’s crotches and an abundance of up close shots of women sensually eating dessert. Ah, nothing says “Look at me!!!” more than a straight up shot of your tits and staged group orgies with your friends.
Of course, because this happened at the same time “Lemonade” was appearing on HBO, people assumed she was trying to shade Beyoncé. But let’s be real, did she actually even know this was happening? Idk.
8. Rob resurfaces.
After many Rob-less seasons of KUWTK, the youngest brother made a miraculous reappearance in the show’s series premiere in May. While his enthusiasm was less than stellar, this was a crucial moment in this rest of the Kardashian Klan’s lives. Although, Khloé was still salty about him frolicking about with Chyna in her home and then later moving out without a word.
9. Kylie and Chyna “have been best friends the whole time.”
Ok? Apparently, there was no actual feud between Chyna and Kylie. So they claim. In April, Kylie stopped the world yet again when she snapped a picture with Chyna claiming that they’ve “been best friends the whole time.” Chyna added to this earth shattering revelation by posting her own selfie with Kylie and captioning it, “Hanging out with my lil sis.” Whether this was actually legit or a publicity stunt, this family def knows how to shake things up.
10. Rob and Chyna further complicate their drama with Kylie by getting pregnant.
Well, that little friendship didn’t last long. Just when the “my big brother is dating my boyfriend’s child’s mother” drama seemed to simmer down, Rob and Chyna decided to light the fire yet again by not only getting engaged, but getting preggers. Fun!
11. Kim posts Kanye’s phone call with Taylor Swift.
Again, Kim is a mother-f*cking savage. When Taylor organized a pity party after Kanye released Famous, Kim took manners into her own hands by releasing a phone call between the two artists on snapchat. I have to say, this one is my absolute favorite. Taylor’s basically been in hiding ever since.
12. Khloe and Chloe have a twitter feud.
Clearly, Chloe Grace Moretz is not a fan of the Kardashians. Following Kim’s Snapchat exposé, Chloe took to Twitter to comment on how “Everyone in this industry needs to get their heads out of a hole and look around to realize what’s ACTUALLY happening in the REAL world.” Khloe quickly (and rather harshly) fired back by tweeting, ““Is this the a hole you’re referring to @ChloeGMoretz ???” accompanied by two photos, one of the actress in a red bikini and another of a girl who looks like her with her bathing suit bottoms pulled down. Ex. Tra.
13. Rob tweets Kylie’s number as revenge.
Leave it to Rob to irrationally overreact about a situation he doesn’t have all the info on. Back in September, Rob assumed that Chyna was was maliciously uninvited from their baby shower when in reality his sisters were just trying to make things comfortable for him. At least that’s what they tell us. Nevertheless, he assumed an appropriate revenge would be to tweet Kylie’s phone number to the world. TBH I still die every time I think about this one.
14. Kim gets robbed at gunpoint.
All the petty BS came to a complete halt in October when Kim was held up at gunpoint in her Paris hotel room. While the world was questioning whether or not this was a publicity stunt (um, guys, it wasn’t), Kim’s lack of social appearances and evident emotional distress proved otherwise.
15. Rob and Chyna do the mannequin challenge in the delivery room/give birth to Dream Kardashian.
They certainly are no ordinary family. Moments before giving birth to Dream Kardashian, Blac Chyna and the rest of the crew posted a video of them doing the mannequin challenge in the delivery room.
16. Kanye West has a mental breakdown
Following an emotional breakdown during a show in Sacramento, Kanye West has just recently been released from the hospital after spending the last few weeks hospitalized for mental health concerns. While no one knows exactly why this breakdown occurred, the latest reports claim that he stopped taking his prescription medication after Kim’s robbery trauma. Whatever’s going on, we hope he gets better real soon.
