11 Embarrassing Cast Photos From 2000s TV Shows

They 2000s were tacky, messy, covered with sparkly denim, and we love-hated it all — especially the TV shows.

Ask any girl you know about the TV shows she grew up with, and she’ll undoubtably start spewing the wonders of Gossip Girl, the OC, Laguna Beach and Desperate Housewives Season 1.

But somehow, what seems to have fallen completely away from public memory is how embarrassing all the promotional cast photos for these TV shows were.

Let’s face it, it’s always awkward to cram a bunch of characters who would never even be in the same room together into the same frame for the purpose of a DVD cover, but the 2000s were especially bad at figuring out how to do it gracefully.

Don’t believe us?

Here’s proof.

Spoiler alert: most of them will be of Gossip Girl.

Whoever was in charge of Gossip Girl’s promotional material must have been on drugs at the time.

1. Gossip Girl

Why does Nate’s foot look like it’s kicking Blair in the chest? Why does Vanessa look like a drag queen? Why is Blair on the floor in the first place?

So many questions. So little backdrop.

2. Hannah Montana

Words don’t even begin to describe how cringeworthy this is.

3. Gossip Girl

Why are they Godzillas and why is Dan sitting with his crotch exposed like that? What a horrible view for whoever lives in that building.

4. The O.C.

They look like they’re four five seconds from having an orgy.

5. Gossip Girl

Speaking of orgies.

This was actually a really popular type of cast photo in the 2000s. For some reason with Gossip Girl, whenever they decided to use this idea Dan always ended up inappropriately close to his little sister.

Chuck. We see you.

8. One Tree Hill

See? We told you this was a popular pose.

10. America’s Next Top Model

Photoshop so bad, you might wonder if any of these girls have ever even met.

11. Sex and the City

If anybody ever tries to argue with you that Sex and the City isn’t remotely lame, all you need to do is show them this photo.
