You Can Now Order McDonald’s From Your Cell Phone
McDonald’s has been making a lot of technologically advanced changes lately, and we’re so here for it.
After all, nothing’s worse than thinking you’re just going to roll through the drive-thru for a quick McGriddle before work and then facing a huge-ass line that’s going to make you late.
Well, no more long lines — hopefully.
Just like Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts, McDonald’s is hopping on the mobile ordering trend. Because what’s fast food if it’s not as fast as you really need it to be?

Everyone’s favorite drunk food spot aims to have their app equipped for mobile ordering across the U.S. by the end of the year, but right now they’re testing it out in Monterey and Salinas, California. Why does California get all the cool things first?
Once the mobile ordering app is available in your state, you have three pick-up options. You can walk up to the counter, pick it up at the drive-thru, or get it delivered curbside. Honestly, I don’t know why you wouldn’t just go with curbside every time, but that’s just me.

According to TechCrunch, the app also has a feature that allows McDonald’s to see how far you are from the location, so that they can prepare your food at the perfect time, since nobody wants soggy fries. This sounds like one of those things that are great in theory but never used in practice, but I guess we’ll have to see (or ask those lucky California people).
The best thing about this is, much like ride-sharing apps, you’ll be able to pay with your phone. So even if you leave your credit card at the bar, you can still go get French fries afterwards. If that’s not goals, I don’t know what is.
