Tarte’s popular Shape Tape concealer has a $4 dupe that’s just as impressive
If you’ve been keeping up with our stories, you know that Tarte lost their mind with their recent Shape Tape foundation launch, but their concealers are the talk of the beauty community right now.
The Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Contour Concealer has a thick consistency and is full coverage, which is perfect in a concealer. There are 14 shades that range from Fair to Mahogany and will cost you $27.

“The hydrating, longwearing formula delivers natural, radiant coverage across all skin types so you can instantly brighten and cover acne, dark circles and redness while softening the look of pores and fine lines,” Tarte says. “Wear it 1-2 shades lighter or darker, and it works as a creamy highlighter or contouring stick with a lightweight, blendable formula and tapered wand applicator ideal for precise strobing and sculpting.”
But if the company has left an ever-lasting bad taste in your mouth that won’t go away, don’t worry. We’ve found a dupe that is only $5 and it’s company hasn’t been called out for being problematic. If you’ve ever stepped foot in a Walgreens you’ve probably heard of the Wet n Wild Beauty brand.
Well, Wet n Wild has a $4 Photofocus Concealer that is being compared to Tarte’s concealer and getting pretty good reviews. It comes in 6 shades, ranging from Light Ivory to Dark CoCo and is said to initially apply a thinner coat in comparison to Tape Shape, but applying 1-2 more coats easily fixes that, according to this YouTuber.

Both products claim to be full coverage, creamy and be able to conceal scars, dark circles, etc. Photofocus is said to be luminous and white-cast free as well, which is what everyone should want in a concealer. Due to the lack of shades you might have to mix your concealer shades but that will still cost you less than $10.
You can get five Wet n Wild concealers for the price of one Shape Tape, when you think of it thank way, it might actually be worth the risk. And even if you try it and hate it, you only wasted $4 so you really don’t have anything to lose.
