What is a beauty influencer and how did you become one?
I would say a beauty influencer is someone who people are influenced by, whether its your hair or makeup. Someone people look up to [them] for beauty tips.
Why did you start your YouTube Channel and what do you hope to do with your channel in the next few years?
I started youtube because I was obsessedΒ with YouTube. I would spend countless hours watching hair and makeup tutorials, so one day I said, I could do what they are doing, and I did. I definitely hope to hit over a million subscribers and continue to grow from there.
Do you feel like having a YouTube Channel aides in your success? Why or why not?
I definitely feel like YouTube played a major part in my success at a young age. I always knew I would be successful, but YouTube sped up the process and introduced me to a life that I love. I am obsessed with makeup, hair, anything beauty and I get to do what I love as a career.
Why did you join the beauty industry and where do you see your brand going within the next few years?
I joined the beauty industry because growing up I couldn’t do my hair like I wanted or wear makeup. I grew up in a strict religion and once I got on my own, I knew it was a passion of mine. I see myself doing huge things. In the next few years, I will have a product or line with my name on it, whether it’s in fashion or cosmetics. I’m also working on things I can’t speak on quite yet.
What are your favorite apps on your phone and why?
I am obsessed with Snapchat, by far my favorite app. I also love Instagram, Pandora, YouTube of course and Soundcloud. I love music and social media.
What are your favorite skin care products?
My favorite skin care product is H2O, water is the key to success. I know it’s typical, but people really sleep on water. It can do so much for your skin, your health, and wealth.
What’s a interesting fact about you that many people don’t know?
A lot of people don’t know that I am one of 15 kids. I have 14 siblings. A lot of people think I’m the only child because I’m always alone, but I’m alone because growing up I couldn’t be.
What tips do you have for inspiring beauty influencers or MUA’s?
If you’re an aspiring beauty influencer you should stay consistent, that is key. Posting regularly helps so much.
What would be in your beginners/intermediate makeup kit?
Everyone knows I love LA Girl concealer, it is by far one of the best concealers on the market. Fit Me foundation, brow pencil, mascara, and a nude lippie.
What advice do you have for anyone looking to increase their brand/social media following?
If you would like to increase your brand/social media as in Instagram I would say, be active. Post everyday, but make sure the content is great.
When you aren’t doing makeup, what is your favorite pastime?
I love to read and I love to travel all the time.
How long did it take you to be confident enough in your makeup skills to become a MUA?
I’m actually not an MUA, but it took about two years to actually feel like I know what I’m doing.
What do you want your supporters to take from this interview?
I would love for anyone who is reading this to understand: if you have a dream, chase it. You can be whoever you want, you can live out your dream if you work hard enough. I know I have a ways to go, but I know I will make it to the top and I’m gonna enjoy the journey there. So work everyday towards your dreams and one day you will live it.
