Selena Gomez Said a Few Words About Her Trip to Rehab
While doing press for her new show, “13 Reasons Why” — a mysterious tale about teenage suicide Netflix is hoping you’ll binge watch this March — Selena Gomez said a few words about her own struggles with depression.
Selenator hearts broke all around the world last August, when Selena said she was taking a hiatus from fame to deal with the “anxiety, panic attacks and depression” Lupus causes her to feel.
After staying out of the news for two months, Selena randomly popped up at a chain restaurant in the small town of Alcoa, Tennessee, dressed in all black and wearing a New York Yankees cap.
Then two days later, news broke Selena was only in Tennessee because she was reportedly back in rehab there to get the help she needed.

Even though all that is ancient history now, since making her glorious, if kinda slut-shaming return back to the public spotlight, Selena hasn’t talked about what she did last summer.
Until now.

“To be frank with you,” Selena began. “I was going through a really difficult time when they started production. I went away for 90 days. I actually met tons of kids in this place that were talking about a lot of the issues that these characters are experiencing.”
She then went on to talk about her struggles with depression in a genuinely vague, and vaguely confusing way.
“I’ve had to deal with it [presumably her depression] on a different scale, whether it was just kids — or growing up in the biggest high school in the world, which was Disney Channel — but it was also adults that had the audacity to tell me how I should live my life. It was very confusing for me.”
Does this all add up to a grand, illuminating statement about her summer vacation in Tennessee?
Nah, but it’s a hell of a lot better than Tom Hiddleston’s poor excuse for an explanation as to why he wore that “I <3 T.S.” shirt at Taylor’s 4th of July party last year.
Let’s just say there’s more than just one reason why Taylor’s kept Selena around, but kicked Tommy boy to the curb.
