Miley Cyrus’s Weed-Themed Party Was a Sh*tshow of Cultural Appropriation

On Friday night, Miley Cyrus threw her husband-to-be Liam and her baby sister Noah what would have been a dank ass weed party, if it wasn’t for all the rampant cultural appropriation.

In addition to the marijuana-filled gift bags and weed-infused margaritas — which Noah couldn’t legally drink, but when has that ever stopped a teenager on her birthday — there were also plenty of grown ass white adults running around in grills, Compton shirts and chains.

Hell, even Ashley Greene showed up wearing chains and an excess of fake tattoos for this supposedly weed-themed party.

Things got a little crazy last night at the @liamhemsworth bday bash. Happy birthday Hemdog #NWL

Seriously, Miley when are you going to grow up and realize cultural appropriation is not an acceptable party theme?

Have you learned nothing from 2013 when “We Can’t Stop” came out and you got rightly dragged through the international media for using black women as accessories and saying you wanted a single that sounded black?

We know you know better.

You’ve grown so much since then.

You made a music full of weird ass druggy music, you got re-engaged, and you literally created a philanthropic organization “to fight injustice facing homeless youth, LGBTQ youth and other vulnerable populations.”

Just because Snoop Dogg has given you the OK to call him Uncle Snoop and you’re BFFs with Mike Will Made It doesn’t mean you can throw a party with a “dress like you’re a stereotypical black rapper” dress code.

And why would you post pictures of it all over your social media accounts?

Don’t you know some of your fans, not to mention the general public, are actually woke?

Come on, Miley.

It’s time to grow up.

If you really need your outfits to be controversial, go back to dressing like a baby to make nuanced points about female sexuality.
