Kanye’s Valentine to Kim shows iconic celeb couples that have broken up
Kanye West is on an epic Instagram bender after months (years?) of not posting on his account. It’s all in honor of Kim — but there’s one awkward detail he might have overlooked.
Kanye is posting pics of iconic celebrity couples. As of this writing, he’s posted 14 couples. There’s just one small detail: only one of those couples — Michelle and Barack Obama — is still together today.
Is this a sign that all’s not well in Kimyeville? Probably not. I think Kanye just thought all these couples looked dope together.
But let’s go down the list, shall we?

The tribute starts with a pic of a Valentine that says “Happy Valentine’s Day Babe.” The investigative journalist in me feels compelled to point out that based on the evidence available, this valentine might not even be for Kim. But hey, let’s assume it is, because Kanye’s not dumb and Kim would destroy his ass if he shouted out anyone but her on V-Day.

Next, we have Madonna and Sean Penn — an awkward choice to be sure, as he allegedly brutally assaulted her during their marriage.
Our next pair is the former First Couple, who we miss with all our hearts.
Next, we have Cindy Crawford and Richard Gere, who were apparently goals at one point in time. (Cindy is always goals, to be clear, but this is not an Elizabeth-Taylor-and-Richard-Burton-level celeb pairing to my knowledge.)
Kate Moss makes her first appearance on the list in this photo of Johnny Depp and her. Also uncomfy: like Penn, he was allegedly a huge dick during their relationship, if not by physically abusing Kate, then by intimidating and manipulating her. Allegedly.
Aaliyah and Tupac are next — try not to shed a tear for this one.
Next we have the literal blondest couple of all time, Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt, who absolutely ruled the early 90s.
Pam Anderson and Tommy Lee also ruled their version of the 90s, as the bizarro bad-boy-and-girl version of Gwyneth and Brad.
Pammy appears again with Kid Rock, who absoLUTELY did not deserve her.
Next we have Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani… which, sure! He is cooler than Blake Shelton at least.
Angelina Jolie and Billie Bob Thornton are iconic for wearing vials of each other’s necks and bragging about doin’ it in the limo on the way to awards shows.
Kate Moss and Pete Doherty also caused a lot of trouble together.
Next we have J. Lo and Diddy, who we really will ship until the end of time. Imagine if these guys had stayed together? UGH.
Prince Charles and Princess Diana are also on the list, which is really confusing because, yeah, they were iconic by virtue of the fact that they were royalty, but they kind of notoriously hated each other.
And finally, we’ve got a second appearance of Johnny Depp, this time with Winona Ryder.
So there you have it: 26 iconic hotties whose relationships didn’t stick, plus Michelle and Barack Obama.
But it’s okay, we’re sure Kanye still loves Kim like Kanye loves Kanye. Happy Valentine’s Day?
