Ivanka Trump Just Got Her First Official Job At the White House
In what couldn’t possibly be considered a conflict of interest, Ivanka Trump just snatched the official White House job she swore for months she wasn’t going to take.
On Wednesday afternoon, the news dropped that Ivanka had changed her mind and was ready to trade in her unofficial advisor status to officially become special assistant to the president, whatever tf that means.

In a statement, Ivanka said she actually made the decision to make her White House job official because she heard people’s concerns that her situation was sus and she wanted to do everything she could to ensure them there wouldn’t be any funny business going on.
“I have heard the concerns some have with my advising the president in my personal capacity while voluntarily complying with all ethics rules. I will instead serve as an unpaid employee in the White House Office, subject to all of the same rules as other federal employees.”
Convincing, right?
Earlier that day, Senators Elizabeth Warren and Tom Carper actually submitted a letter to the Office of Government Ethics noting Ivanka’s “increasing, albeit unspecified White House role,” which includes meeting with multiple foreign leaders, “has resulted in substantial confusion.”
They requested more details about what Ivanka’s role would entail and what ethical guidelines she would be forced to abide by.
Whether this had anything to do with Ivanka’s official appointment a few hours later hasn’t been confirmed, but the timing is uncanny.
Ivanka’s lawyer says her promotion “affords her increased opportunities to lead initiatives driving real policy benefits that would not have been available to her previously.”
Just what we needed.
Another Trump with the power to make legislation happen.
Bless up.
