6 Drugstore Beauty Dupes For a Natural Makeup Look

The internet’s obsession with makeup lately has probably had you wanting to amp up your own beauty bag (not to mention makeup skills).

If you’re just getting your toes wet, you probably don’t want to be splurging on expensive products that you don’t even know how to use, but you also don’t want to harm your face by using cheap products with sus ingredients — or cheap products that simply don’t work properly.

Thankfully, that’s where dupes come in. Anyone who’s familiar with beauty blogger talk knows that a “dupe” is a more affordable makeup product that’s super similar to a more expensive product. We asked one of our fave makeup artists, Fae Diakite, to tell us some of her favorite drugstore swaps.

1. For The Perfect Brow

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Dip: e.l.f Brow Kit

Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Brow Dip is a cult fave, but if you’re trying to save your cash, the e.l.f brow kit is equally lit.

“Not only does the e.l.f brow kit save you $15.00 extra on your makeup haul, it’s beginner friendly and less messier than the ABH Brow Dip,” says Fae.

2. Conceal That ‘Ish

M.A.C concealers are another fave of professional makeup artists, but you may not be a professional makeup artist and have the need for pricey product. Instead, Fae recommends L.A. Girl Pro concealers as one of her fave drugstore products. “Not because it’s so affordable, but because the variety in shades caters to every skin tone and type,” she says.

3. Eyeshadow Primer

If you’re wondering if you need an eyeshadow primer (or if you’ll actually use it), try this NYX Eyeshadow Base first. If you’re a fan, move on to the Urban Decay Primer Potion that every beauty babe swears by. Fae says they both apply smooth and are long-lasting.

4. Banana Babes

Ben Nye Luxury Powder In Banana: W7 Banana Dreams, $5

It’s not that Ben Nye Luxury Powder is expensive, it’s that it’s constantly selling out and super hard to get your hands on. Instead of waiting in lines or searching Ebay, Fae says w7’s Banana Dreams is super similar.

“Both have an amazing flawless finish and no scary flashbacks,” she says. “You can purchase the W7 U.K. Banana Dream powder on Amazon for only $6 to save yourself the headache.”

5. Game. Set. Match

M.A.C prep & Prime: E.l.f Mist & Set, $14

Fae loves both of these products, but says that the e.l.f is her go-to for traveling because of its small size. “You can’t go wrong with either,” she says. “I would keep the M.A.C on my vanity and the e.l.f mist in my bag.”

6. Flawless Foundation

M.A.C Pro Long Wear: Maybelline Fit Me, $6
If you’re on a budget or running low on foundation and need to run into the drugstore real quick, Fae recommends Maybelline’s Fit Me foundation. “It’s light weight and also comes in ‘matte and poreless’ and ‘dewy’ for various skin tones,” she says.
