DAI TIME IS THE VOICE OF GEN-Z’ERS EVERYWHERE
Dai Time is turning 18 years old and what better way to celebrate than with an exclusive all white yacht party? This Gen-Zer is using her voice to unite her generation from various backgrounds together through her snapchat talk show, hosting events and frankly just being herself! FEATURE INTERVIEW:
You’ve coined the term “The Voice of Gen Z”. Tell us about how you got interested in various topics concerning Gen Z and what it means to you to be the voice of your peers.
I proudly consider myself the voice of Gen Z due to personal experiences. I was also born and raised in this generation. We are often misunderstood and labeled as the lost generation, so I enjoy showing the spice levels of gen z. We are totally different and enjoy the stereotypes of acquaintances.
At only 17 years old, you’ve created a media platform with over 1.5 million supporters across your Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Snapchat platforms. Talk to us about how you got your start and what prompted you to create “Dai Time”!
I knew from birth I was chosen to lead by example or display light in every circumstance. Spreading joy amongst my peers made me proud of my affections. My birth name Dai, which in Japanese stands for princess. My parents had no idea I would have slanted eyes and love Japanese food and culture as much as I do. Day is like a ray of sunshine, which led to the name daytime. aka Dai Time.

When you were only 10 years old you published your own magazine and have been in love with the media field ever since. Take us back to that time and talk about what that experience was like and what you learned from it.
At a young age inspiring my peers really impacted my daily steps in life. I met so many phenomenal generation Z peers my age which led me to create a space to highlight all the other amazing youth making an impact. I started my own magazine which then created an avenue for phenomenal stories about peers just like me doing amazing work in the community.
You’ve collaborated with various brands like Nike, NYX, Covergirl and Alo – just to name a few. Tell us about what a collaboration with you looks like and what brands would you like to work with in the future?
Brand collaboration is an essential component as a creator. I truly enjoy learning to create your own vision under the umbrella of your favorite brands. I dream about overseas collaborations and traveling to some of my favorite countries for collaborations. High-fashion brands like Dior, Skims and Fenty are on the list as well.

Recently you worked with Usher’s non-profit organization, “Usher’s New Look” by hosting their Teen Captivator Summit. Tell us about this event and what you learned from it that you will take with you for your future endeavors.
Working with Usher’s nonprofit was a phenomenal feeling and experience. Motivating Gen-Zer’s my age to pursue goals and dreams was so inspiring. I spoke encouraging words of action, which also assured me to continue in my path. It felt good to connect personally with everyone! Usher was also kind and supportive of everyone present.
You’ve had your own talk show in partnership with Snapchat for about 2 years. As you prepare to enter your 5th season of your show, talk to us about how this came about and what topics viewers can look forward to your discussing.
Being the voice of Gen Z led to the decision of hosting my own talk show on Snapchat. Every season I create ways to showcase my generation to others. I truly am grateful for the opportunity to produce my talk show every season. I have a blast every episode, spilling all the entertainment news, celebrity interviews, and all things Gen Z.
How did you feel when your show reached 8.2 million viewers after only 2 seasons? That’s an amazing accomplishment and you’re just getting started!
I still have a long way to go! I celebrate my accomplishments but want to do more.
You’ve hosted various red carpets as a media correspondent, furthering your skill set and adding another layer of the Dai Time brand. What was your first media correspondent gig and what did you learn from it?
My first major red-carpet event was the BET awards at age 13. I was excited to see some of my favorite celebrities and look fabulous on the carpet! It was overwhelming chasing celebrities down for an interview though lol. I was so exhausted, but I learned from this first experience to get plenty of rest and to study the celebrities that are coming. Be ready with full energy!

You’re having an exclusive all-white yacht party to celebrate your 18th birthday soon. Some of the biggest Gen Z actors and influencers will be in attendance and we’re sure cameras will be rolling to catch it all for your show. What are you most looking forward to for this celebration, and can you share a few people attending?
I’m so elated that I’m finally planning my yacht party for my birthday celebration! My golden year, 18 on the 18th of March! I wanted a yacht party years ago, but never had the appropriate time to plan. I’m excited to see all my friends in all white celebrating with the best music and just pure fun. My guest list will consist of the top Gen-Zer’s from actors and artist of our generation. Make sure to tune in for all the BTS and photos because I’m sure it will kill. We’re taking over the timeline!
What is the best advice your mom has given you?
Stay strong, patient and never give up.
Are you a true Pisces?
YES! I’m literally the definition of a Pisces girl. I love all my fellow water signs, especially if you’re a Pisces too. Unlike the other water signs, you will NOT catch me swimming in any body of water except for my own tears specifically in movie theaters! P.S. it’s totally normal to cry watching EVERY movie you see.
Who are your SHEROES?
My SHEROE is my ride or die mom. She has been by my side since day one (literally). The list goes on and on from there, I’ve got to give props to all the queens in the industry, especially Nichelle Turner, Kris Jenner and Tina Knowles.
What is your beauty regime?
At least 10 hours of sleep (lol yes 10), drinking lots of water every day, hot yoga sessions and a gentle skincare routine.

What beauty products do you swear by?
I love a good skin tint! My current favorite is Fenty Beauty. I also NEED to always have Summer Fridays Lip Balm on me.
Since you turned 18 how has your life changed?
Turning 18 made me realize I have more responsibilities and my priorities are in order.
What is your favorite cake flavor?
Unpopular opinion, cake is not my favorite! My current goal right now is to have a cookie cake for my birthday this year!
Walk us through the b-day fit for the big day.
I’m getting last minute help from my stylist. I’m wearing something fashionable and high fashion, but cute.

What has been your most LA experience as a LA native?
LA absolutely supports me as a dog mom. My dog and I have been to many places together and it’s been an epic experience.
What is a fun night out with friends like?
Fun nights consist of dancing, singing, making content and of course talking about relationships lol.
What’s the most cringe TikTok trend right now?
TikTok is so much fun and helpful. I’ll say the most cringe trends are involving food and just eating too much.
What’s next for Dai Time? Do you have anything you can exclusively share with Galore that your supporters can look forward to in 2024?
