Ciara Reveals She Accidentally Asked the Universe for a Sexless Engagement
Although it’s vaguely concerning that Ciara and Russell Wilson have decided to spend the rest of their lives together without knowing beforehand if the sex is gonna suck or make the bed rock, it makes us feel better to know that Ciara kind of asked for the whole no sex before marriage thing in the first place.
Let this be a lesson to you all: be careful what you ask the universe to help you manifest.
In an interview with Essence magazine, Ciara talked about the very specific list of traits she had in mind for a partner, and how those traits ended up manifesting themselves in the form of Russell Wilson, the guy who famously asked her, “What would you do if we took all that ‘extra stuff’ off the table, and just did it Jesus’s way?”
“I remember telling my friend the guy I wanted: a God fearing-man with a very fun spirit who loves kids and would really, truly care for me. I was very specific because I do believe you can have it all.”
While she didn’t explicitly say, “I want a man who wants to wait to put it on me before he puts that ring on me in church,” when you say you want a “God fearing-man,” a girl needs to be ready for the worst.
Still, you have to give Ciara this: the plan worked. Although TBH, she was pretty confident it would since she’d basically manifested her entire career into being while she was still a teenager.
Of course, her breakup with Future wasn’t “necessarily part of my vision” but that’s okay because she got her revenge on him by refusing to say his name during the presentation of the 2016 Billboard Music Awards nominees.
