Chloe Grace Moretz Shades Taylor Swift In Latest Interview
It’s tough to keep track of who’s in or out of Taylor Swift’s squad these days (Karlie, where are you?! Blink twice if you need help!) but one’s thing for sure: Chloë Grace Moretz is very much out. And she’s cool with it.
In a Complex profile, Chloë addressed her “anti-squad” stance and had some interesting words to say — or not say — about her own invitation to Taylor’s squad.
First, here are her thoughts on squads in general: “They appropriate exclusivity. They’re cliques!” She said this with exasperation, according to Complex.
This prompted writer Andrew Grottadoro to ask Chloë if she knows Taylor Swift.
“Yes,” she told him.
“Did she, you know, ask you to join her squad?” he asked.
“Yes,” Chloë said again.
Here, the writer adds his own commentary since Chloë’s apparently done talking about it:
At this point I’ve forced celebrity Chloë Grace Moretz and 19-year-old Chloë Grace Moretz to collide. She seems to want to say a lot of things—perhaps about the “Bad Blood” singer—but already knows the repercussions of those things becoming public. I can practically feel her urge to unleash bubbling and rising to the top of her throat. Just then a smile spreads across her moon-shaped face, the padlock that keeps whatever’s in her mind just right there, and she says, measuredly, “She’s a very talented person.” “You can talk to me about these things, you know,” I say back. “You know I can’t!” she laughs.
The world will never know what happened between Chloë and Taylor. Unless a Twitter feud starts, which we haven’t ruled out judging by Chloë’s past propensity for jumping into Twitter drama. Until then, we can only speculate.
