Bella Thorne Never Wanted To Be a “Disney Girl”

While we’ve known for awhile that past Galore cover girl Bella Thorne is definitely a workaholic,  that doesn’t mean she has to like her work.

In a new interview on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, Bella says she wasn’t exactly down to be a Disney girl on “Shake It Up.” But if it weren’t for the role, she and her family might have ended up homeless.

Here’s what she said:

“Do you think that I wanted to be a Disney girl? Did you think I wanted to do that? We were about to live physically on the street if I didn’t have that role. We were living off Stouffer’s coupons, and that’s all we had to eat every day. That may not sound like a big deal to everybody, but when you’re a single mom raising four kids with debt and you have nothing to your name, it’s fucking shitty.”

Even though it helped her and her fam tremendously, Bellz admits that her past as a Disney star posed some threats to her future endeavors after “Shake It Up” ended.

“It was really hard to get a job after the show,” she said. “People didn’t want to read me. They didn’t want to see me because they were like, ‘She’s a Disney actress. So for me, it was like starting back at the bottom and working my way up all the way again.”

We all know that being a “Disney Star” does seem to come with some repercussions. Take Miley Cyrus for example, who completely changed her image after Disney to distance herself from that innocent af stereotype.

At least they all get rich as f*ck.
