15 Minutes of Infamy: What People Freaked Out About Online This Week
We all know the internet is a place where people like to complain and drag each other through the mud.
But these days, getting mad about stuff on the internet has basically become our new national pastime. Especially if it’s about something that people think will make them look smart or woke.
And boy do we get mad at a lot of things on a daily basis!
In fact, we get mad at so many things all the time that it’s pretty much impossible to remember what you angrily tweeted about on Monday once Friday rolls around.
So we’ve decided to start a new weekly feature where we pay homage to all the things that people got mad about during the week that’s not important enough to be immortalized in the history books.
Welcome to “15 Minutes of Infamy.”
Memorial Day
Growing up, Memorial Day was one of those holidays that nobody really understood, but who cares because you got a day off from school and it was usually warm enough to go to the beach.
But now that we’re living in the Woke Age, people get very sensitive about Memorial Day. Because it’s not supposed to be a fun day to throw a BBQ and get blackout drunk on the roof, it’s supposed to be about the troops and the sacrifices they made for our country.
So, as you might imagine, the Internet got PISSED when a handful of not woke celebrities tweeted not woke tidings of Memorial Day joy.
Here are three of the biggest offenders:
Ariel Winter
Ariel Winter is one of the most thot positive celebrities in existence today. And we here at Galore bless her for it. Since every day is a good day to post a sexy bikini picture for Ariel Winter, she celebrated Memorial Day by pulling down on her bikini and wishing her followers a happy Memorial Day.
And while some of her followers said things like, “I want to clone you,” some like @sariah.malivanh said, “why do you post this for vetrans who died? this is disgusting.”
@Nev.such chimed in by saying, “Our soldiers fight for this country and this is what you post? On Memorial Day? Wow really shows respect for our soldiers.”
But @radiac1, who claims to be an actual vet, set ’em straight, saying, “as a vet who has lost shipmates, I can’t think of one who would object to your post. Thank you.”
Pitbull
Mr. Worldwide angered Twitter when he posted a tweet saying, “Today we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for America #MemorialDay” and underneath posted a picture of his smiling face superimposed on the American Flag.
While his words were top notch, Twitter users were very offended about his smiling face.
RIP Pitbull

Glad you didn’t make it all about you dude
— Paul Tebbutt (@RealPaulTebbutt) May 29, 2017
your Tweet was quoted by @mashable https://t.co/yTwvu0XQQX
— Recite News (@ReciteNews) May 30, 2017
Ivanka Trump
Last but not least, people got pissed at Ivanka.
Not because of anything she said, but because of something her Team Ivanka Trump Twitter account tweeted out a recipe for Champagne popsicles.
Make champagne popsicles this #MemorialDay: https://t.co/1m6ceESqnS
— Ivanka Trump HQ (@IvankaTrumpHQ) May 28, 2017
Who can’t relate to “champagne popsicles” on #MemorialDay ? Except maybe all the people honoring those who served and sacrificed all.

I think we can all agree there’s nothing to see here.
Moving on.
This makeup artist who turned a white woman into a black woman
If there’s one thing people don’t like, it’s casual blackface. But for some reason the makeup artist behind the Instagram account @PaintDatFace thought people would gag on her very glam take on it.
And you know what, people did gag, just not in a good way.
Save your sorry explanation to justify your ignorant, wrongful actions. THIS IS BLACKFACE. THIS IS BLACKFACE. THIS. IS. BLACKFACE. Next pic.twitter.com/r21PNMPrXH
— Jae (@jaeralde) May 28, 2017
That’s a lot of words just to say you condone blackface pic.twitter.com/KdqdXsU64B
— ✨Halahna✨ (@anhalah) May 28, 2017
My race & culture IS NOT a costume ✊
— Tierra Royal (@tierra__shanice) May 28, 2017
Honestly @PaintDatFace should have known better. Next.
Barstool’s Blog Post About Rihanna’s Body
It’s never nice to talk about a woman’s weight in public, but that didn’t stop Barstool Sports from publishing a lengthy rant about Rihanna titled, “Is Rihanna Going to Make Being Fat the Hot New Trend?”
Yes, it was in fact written by a dumb boy and believe it or not, the actual post was even ruder than the headline.
And as you might imagine, people weren’t into it.
U called women fat & you’re crying bully? You don’t have ownership over a woman’s body & your opinion is shame-based. Get a brain.
— Yolanda Machado (@SassyMamainLA) May 30, 2017
I’m not a Rihanna fan or a woman and I thought the article was repulsive. Also it reads like it was written by a 5-year-old #Soreeeeee
— David Tanklefsky (@davidtanklefsky) May 30, 2017
Rihanna fans did not like my blog calling her fat and now I’m being cyberbullied pic.twitter.com/iuvYIwW8gr
— Straight Spags (@ChrisSpags) May 30, 2017
Honestly, it would have been better if everybody would have just ignored this garbage article instead of giving the author and Barstool a shit ton of publicity and clicks, but hey, that’s just me!
Somebody put a peeing dog next to the Fearless Girl Statue
First of all, did you even remember the Fearless Girl statue existed?
No? Same.
Well, basically what happened is some dude artist made a statue of a peeing dog called “Sketchy Dog” and put it next to the Fearless Girl statue so it looked like the dog was peeing on her leg.
Although USA Today reports the artist who made the peeing dog says he didn’t mean for it to be an anti-feminist thing, what else is a dog peeing on a feminist sculpture supposed to mean?
And people got mad.
Alex Gardega thought placing a statue of a dog peeing on a girl was okay. It’s a statue of a little girl. Hatred for women in America.
— Jennifer Hall Lee (@JenniferLeeUSA) May 30, 2017
Alex Gardega’s dog is so trivial and lame. Such a misogynistic moron! #Shittyart #FearlessGirl #Powergirl https://t.co/6IP7LhRdPc
— Cindy (@cindysanzc) May 30, 2017
There is only one message a dog pissing on a young girl sends. Alex Gardega is a vile human. https://t.co/wkI0L7HxqE

The Red Shoes Body Shaming Trailer
On Tuesday, some marketing for Chloe Grace Moretz’s new animated film “Red Shoes and the 7 Dwarfs” made the rounds on Twitter, after Tess Holliday realized it was high key bodyshaming.
How did this get approved by an entire marketing team? Why is it okay to tell young kids being fat = ugly? @ChloeGMoretz pic.twitter.com/PVhgwluGTM
— Tess Holliday (@Tess_Holliday) May 30, 2017
THAT MAKES ME FURIOUS! Let’s take something that was already shitty and add a lil sexism to sweeten it up!
— Jane Monheit (@JaneMonheit) May 30, 2017
And don’t worry, Chloe Grace Moretz was pissed about it too!
I have now fully reviewed the mkting for Red Shoes, I am just as appalled and angry as everyone else, this wasn’t approved by me or my team
— Chloë Grace Moretz (@ChloeGMoretz) May 31, 2017
But again, if it wasn’t for the outcry against this, almost no one in the western world would have even seen the “offensive” poster — it was only displayed in South Korea. Now that everyone had to weigh in and denounce it on Twitter, it’s safe to say thousands more people have seen it and possibly had their feelings hurt.
Good job, guys.
The Wonder Woman Movie
For some reason, Vulture decided to have a man review the new “Wonder Woman” film and believe it or not, he said a few things people would consider sexist.
“perfect blend of superbabe-in-the-woods innocence and mouthiness.”
– David Edelstein @vulture on Wonder Woman pic.twitter.com/DAsPyetK5R
— Geek Girl Diva (@geekgirldiva) June 2, 2017
Editor: “What’s your angle on this Wonder Woman piece?”
Him: “It was good, but also, I didn’t get horny enough”
Editor: “Here’s some money”— Ryan Broderick (@broderick) June 2, 2017

Yikes.
Kathy Griffin Holding Up Trump’s Fake Severed Head
On Tuesday, Kathy Griffin came out of nowhere to share a photo shoot of her holding a bloody, decapitated Donald Trump head.
It was not the smartest joke for a public figure to make, especially because it wasn’t really a joke. Because it wasn’t funny. It was just Kathy Griffin holding a bloody, decapitated Donald Trump head.
And people just got pissed.
Kathy Griffin holds Trump's severed head.
She is a sick, vile human being.
Typical Leftist.https://t.co/6aAmPRLz2v
— Mark Romano (@TheMarkRomano) May 30, 2017
This Kathy Griffin thing is so upsetting and disgusting. Jesus–what is wrong with people today? Have we lost all our humanity?
— Soledad O'Brien (@soledadobrien) May 30, 2017
And some people got pissed that people were pissed.
Conservatives who voted for Trump don't feel they should be held accountable for his views, but think Kathy Griffin represents all liberals.
— Millennial Democrats (@Millennial_Dems) May 30, 2017
Then Griffin apologized on Twitter, got fired from her job at CNN and that made people pissed too.
CNN canning Kathy Griffin because of conservative backlash is what I always feared would happen after liberals led so many witch hunts
— Mitchell Sunderland (@mitchsunderland) May 31, 2017
Nobody should lose a job over outrage from either side of the political aisle
— Mitchell Sunderland (@mitchsunderland) May 31, 2017
And did I mention Trump tweeted about how his 11-year-old son Barron had seen the image and was having an “especially” hard time coping with the photo, and that also made people mad?!
So Kathy Griffin is more harmful to Barron Trump than global warming. Got it.
— billy eichner (@billyeichner) June 1, 2017
And then people were mad that during a press conference she gave, Kathy Griffin said the Trumps were bullying her and she was a victim. And somehow people were still mad enough to get even madder!
Hey Kathy Griffin you're not the victim of this hateful attack. Barron Trump & Melania are the victims. America is laughing AT you. Go away.
— Mike (@mike4193496) June 2, 2017
And the Oscar winner for best actress to be a victim after holding up a blooded seated Presidents look alike beheaded head! KATHY GRIFFIN pic.twitter.com/VarRQQEw13
— Steve McGranahan🇺🇸 (@wsredneck) June 2, 2017
Seriously, this is Kathy Griffin people.
She made a bad joke, not a serious assassination threat, but everybody’s freaking out about it as much, if not more than Trump’s decision to pull out of the Paris Climate Agreement.
Really? Calm down.
Until next week, fam.
Stay mad.
