FEATURED INTERVIEW:
Tink! We’re so glad to chat with you again! How is touring going for you?
Touring is crazy … especially since this is an arena tour. I’m supporting one of my biggest inspirations in the game, Jhene Aiko .. so every night, there’s a different level of excitement and sometimes even pressure! I love it
What’s your favorite City to visit?
My favorite city has to be between Jersey and Miami. It’s tough to choose because the love and support are through the roof every night. But honestly, the energy in Miami gave me chills … they were so loud and locked in—every song.
“Thanks 4 Nothing” was one of the biggest albums last year. How is it performing those records for this tour, and what are some of your favorite numbers to perform?
”Fake Love” was a huge Thanks 4 Nothing album record. Every time I perform it, the intro turns the crowd up. The first line is so triggering, “These days you can’t even trust who you fuckin…” – it’s a fan favorite for sure.
Can you tell us a little bit about your latest Mixtape, “Winter’s Diary 5?” Are you continuing a few storylines from your previous mixtape?
Of course, WD5 is one of my personal works. It’s a diary for me, so a lot of the songs touch on what I went through this past year: love, lust, heartbreak, and growth. I tried to keep the same formula from my earlier mixtapes, recording without judging it too harshly—just being open and honest.
How was it working with Summer Walker on “Songs About U”?
Working with Summer Walker was like a breath of fresh air. I’ve been waiting to do a song with her for some time. People often compare us as artists, so coming together on a song felt really good.
What songs are you currently playing on repeat?
Right now, I’m playing my throwback, Count On You. It’s a record from Winter’s Diary 2, and I brought it back to perform on my set. I never realized how special it was until now on tour!
How do you practice self-care when on the road?
While on the road, I like to pray and meditate, especially before a show. I also try to stay consistent in the gym. It is most important to keep my mind and body healthy.
What’s your favorite song and lyric from “Winter’s Diary 5”?
My favorite song on the album is Lows & Highs – and my favorite lyric is “I seen this money turn my dog into a snake.
The fans are curious – are you single?
I’m single at the moment. And I’m enjoying it in this era .. It’s all about me, myself, and my career right now.
Can your European fans expect to see you on the road soon?
I would love to come back to Europe to perform! I toured there last year, and the love was inspiring … It’s always in my plans when the time is right.
Can we expect any new visuals soon?
I’m working on a new visual for a song called Playa ft Skilla Baby. It’s a rap song about dating & matching energy, and we both popped our shit on it … the video’s gonna be super fun.
Lastly, what’s a piece of advice you’d give to anyone wanting to do what you do?
My advice to anyone who wants to be an artist would be to not overthink! Your first mind is genius … don’t let anyone alter your vision.
