Selena Gomez spilled on why she got back with the Biebs
Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber have gotten back together, and normal humans are wondering why.
Is it because The Weeknd is dull and boring and has never experienced the loss of a cherished pet monkey to ground him?
Is it because she re-listened to the rap verse Justin added to his cover of “The Little Drummer Boy” and realized she couldn’t live without such raw talent in her life?
Is it because Justin Bieber can grow facial hair now?
Is it his hockey skillz?
Is it because they’re both part of the same casual Christian cult? Well, probably yes.
According to Sele herself, though, none of these reasons are accurate and it’s actually really simple: they just know a lot of stuff about each other.

Selena spoke about Bieber during her Billboard interview. When the writer, Brooke Mazurek, asked Sele what brought Bieber back into her life, here’s what she said:
I’m 25. I’m not 18, or 19, or 20. I cherish people who have really impacted my life. So maybe before, it could have been forcing something that wasn’t right. But that doesn’t mean caring for someone ever goes away. And [that goes for] people in general. I mean, I grew up with Demi [Lovato]. Nick and Joe [Jonas] and Miley [Cyrus] — we’ve gone through seasons in our lives. I don’t think it’s as serious as people make things out to be half the time. It’s just my life. I grew up with all of these people, and it’s so cool to see where everybody is. It comes back to the idea of me remaining full. I think a true representation of love is beyond just yourself. It’s me going to get coffee earlier this morning and talking with a woman who was celebrating her birthday and going to Disneyland for the first time. I told her about my favorite things there, and she got excited, and then I got excited because she was excited. The littlest things are impactful.
Sounds like Sele is having a bit of a boomerang moment with her childhood friend group, which is totally normal. A lot of people drift from their day-ones around age 21, only to hook back up with them a few years later after the most hectic part of their 20s is through.
It’s important to note, though, that Selena didn’t confirm the relationship in this interview — but come on, she’s let herself get photographed wearing Justin’s dirty laundry so we all know what she wants us to think.
