Selena Is About to Make Millions as the New Face of Coach
Selena Gomez is back, baby.
Despite her reticence to announce the official end of the hiatus she launched in August, from making her return to Instagram to making a speech about how she doesn’t want to see women posting half-naked selfies anymore, Selena’s been dipping her toes back into public life this month.
And now, according to Page Six, Selena just signed a $10 million deal to become the new face of Coach.
As we noted in our review of the new Coach collection, creative director Stuart Vevers is taking the brand in a new direction.
Think less fancy graduation gift your parents bought you at the fancy suburban mall by your house and more classic Americana.
Their latest show featured NASA, dinosaur and leopard prints with a mix of shearling, denim and bomber jackets that any fashion-obsessed twenty-something would DIE to be unwrapping under a Christmas tree this year.
Although this news has yet to be confirmed by Coach, it would make sense that they’d reach out to Selena Gomez, who is probably the most liked American celebrity right now — at least on Instagram.
Plus her classic chic style is a perfect fit for Coach’s new direction.
Page Six also reports that in addition to being the face of the luxury brand, Selena will also be designing her own line for Coach, which will inevitably sell out in hours, mirroring the success of Rihanna’s Fenty line for Puma.
There may be a lot about 2017 that’s still up in the air, but this is something to look forward to.
