New ‘Beautiful People Club’ Will Be Exactly Like Every Other Club
A dating site called Beautiful People (gag) has announced that they’re opening a club in LA that’ll only be accessible for beautiful people, or their members, who are allegedly also all beautiful people.
This mimics their dating site, which allegedly only accepts members who are “beautiful” (but have such shitty personalities they’re still single, we assume). Just like on their site, a panel of judges will be judging hopeful attendants at their LA club to determine if they can get in or not. Obviously, all the judges are hot themselves, most are actors or models that you’ve definitely never heard of.
But the thing is, this concept isn’t new.
If you’re a hot girl with no money, you probably go clubbing all the time. Even if clubs aren’t necessarily your thing, you can’t say no to the free bottles, free Ubers, and free dinners that come with going to the club.
For those of you who don’t know about club culture, I’ll explain. Club owners want hot girls crowding the club at all times, so they offer free bottles/drinks, and usually offer free dinner as well, cuz a girl’s gotta eat.
Because of this, most clubs end up being 70% hot girls, and 30% rich older dudes.
Beautiful People’s new club could differentiate itself from the nightclub mold if they decided to only admit people based on looks without allowing people (dudes) to buy their way in, but because dating sites are businesses, they’re obviously not doing this.
“Wealth is a strong factor of perceived attractiveness – especially with women,” said Managing Director Greg Hodge to The Sun.
Okay…wait, so they’re not only judging on looks?
“We see this mirrored through the site’s rating system where men who exude wealth and success in their images, but who may not be that attractive, are often voted in,” said Hodge to The Sun. “The way we see it, money can be attractive too, so on a discretionary basis we may make exceptions for certain high net-worth individuals. “
Congrats Beautiful People, you are legit making a nightclub identical to every single nightclub that already exists. Maybe you don’t have promoters (yet, but you will) and maybe you’re backed by a dating app, but other than that, we don’t really see a difference.
Why are beautiful women going to want to go to your club as opposed to the other clubs that will give them free bottles of Dom and a sushi dinner? They’re going to have an equal shot of finding a sugar daddy at any club they go to, and just because guys are deemed “hot enough” to get into the Beautiful People club doesn’t mean that they’re not creepy or annoying.
Congrats, Beautiful People, you played yourself.
