Moschino’s Latest Show Is All About Prescription Pills & Paper Dolls

Jeremy Scott gave Milan Fashion Week a badass makeover.

While most shows in Milan are full of nothing but chic garments, Moschino went with its usual Kitschy alternative, dressing the models up as paper dolls and sending them down the runway with accessories that doubled as prescription pills.

Readers with a retro sensibility will recognize the Moschino show as a play on “Valley of the Dolls,” the bestselling and lovably trashy 1966 novel that put pill problems on the map. In the book (and subsequent movie), a trio of hotties battled with fame, fortune, and pill addiction, always referring to their pills as “dolls.” Hence, the paper doll cutouts and pill bottle vibes at Moschino.

Guests were invited to view this collection with invitations that were pill bottles prescribed by “Dr. Moschino.” How clever.

Even the beauty look was totally retro. Gigi Hadid rocked bobbed hair and short bangs, bold brows and smoky cat-eye makeup. And let me tell you, it was thrilling.
