How Lisa Ramos Keeps Her Makeup On Fleek At The Beach

No-makeup makeup is all fun and games until it’s 95 degrees outside and there’s a chance someone might push you in the pool.

That’s why there are water-proof products (thank God), but there’s the whole other issue of what you can really get away with wearing at the pool, because a full-glitter eyeshadow is probs a no-go unless you’re at a beach rave.

We talked to Lisa Ramos about how she gets her summertime fine on without looking like a hot mess.

What color do you see as being the “color” of the summer?

I think bright colors such as yellow and orange are always beautiful in the summer because everyone is usually sun-kissed and bronze-y. My favorite shades are specifically burnt orange and mustard yellow. I love a burnt orange dress with gold accessories.

What’s your go-to summer shoe? Bag?

I am really loving the clear chunky heel. The one I wore in this shoot is from White Fox. It goes well with pretty much anything, and makes your legs look longer.

What clothing trend do you think is totally overdone? beauty trend?

I hate to say it, but I’m tired of lace-up thigh high boots. They have to go. It would also be great to get rid of sky blue contacts.

What are some of your must-have summer beauty buys?

I use Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder for shine and First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Pure Mineral Sunscreen to protect my face from the sun.

How do you ensure that your makeup won’t melt off in the sun/at the pool?

I recommend a tinted moisturizer, blush, and lash extensions. It’s minimal, but you’ll still look beautiful and girly without your eye makeup smearing all over the place. There are also great matte lip glosses that stay on all day.

What’s your favorite product to get a faux glow?

I have one that I use all year that is amazing. I actually just blogged about it. Check it out here.

What are some beauty products that you would never use in the beach/pool?

Red lipstick is definitely a no-no. It just doesn’t make sense at the beach or pool. And any mascara that’s not waterproof is a big mistake!

What are some common summer beauty/fashion mistakes you see people make?

I’m guilty of this one… sheer sun dresses! Once, in Australia, I walked all over town basically naked in a sheer maxi dress. I was so embarrassed when I learned why so many people were staring at me. Now, I always make sure the dress isn’t sheer in the sun before I buy it.
