Here’s why Rihanna’s been keeping her style so chill recently
It’s no secret that Rihanna is one of those humans who was born with the gift of fashion sense.
Practically every time she steps out in public, she has somebody on Twitter convulsing on the floor as they announce they’re dead, gagging and shooketh.
But for the most part these days, Rihanna’s been keeping it kind of casual, even when her plans for the night include walking the red carpet.
Unsurprisingly, there’s a reason for that.

Her hairstylist Yusef Williams told Refinery29 that while, “Rih wants to be a risk taker with her hair and her style,” she doesn’t always feel like she has “to be that badass.”
“These days, when things are just chill and natural and real, it makes people think,‘Cool, she can do that too,’” Yusef pointed out.
He continued:
“She likes to pull her hair up in top buns and ponytails, so she can feel chill and normal. I feel like that’s a statement too. Girls are like, ‘Shit, I don’t have to color my hair platinum blonde or cut it off.’”
Somehow I think Rihanna’s reason for keeping it casual has less to do with setting an example for women and more to do with the fact that she’s on vacation, so she wants to really lean into that, but whatever Yusef says.
Either way, she looks fabulous and always will until the day she dies.
