A-List Musicians Are Boycotting the Grammys This Year

What do Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Drake, and Frank Ocean all have in common?

They’re all allegedly skipping the Grammys this year.

Bieber and Drake aren’t coming because they think the Grammys aren’t “relevant or representative especially when it comes to young singers,” according to a TMZ source.

Kanye just thinks the Grammys are racist.

“Let’s put it this way,” a source to Kanye told TMZ. “He’s received 21 Grammys, but when he was head-to-head against a white singer, he never won.”

Granted this year he’s not nominated in any categories where he’s head-to-head with a white singer but who can argue with calling an old-school award show racist?

Last year Kanye tweeted to the Recording Academy president, “You like your black people a certain way also. I feel the Grammy awarding system is way off and completely out of touch.”

And Frank Ocean thinks Frank Ocean thinks the Grammys are both over and racist, so he didn’t even bother to submit Blonde to be considered for a golden gramophone.

Honestly, they all have a point.

Who even uses gramophones anymore anyway besides old people who may or may not be holding onto some deep-seated racism?

When you have millions of followers, why do you really need a Grammy?

It’s fun to take shots out of, but does it really matter?

No.

And honestly, if more A-listers decide to skip it, the people at home watching will skip it too.

Why else would you tune into a boring awards show if not for the celebrities?

You can find out who wins on Twitter.

Watch out, Grammys.

You’re on thin ice right now.
