Divinity, Glamour, and Nessa Barrett: A Night Inside Castle Ferreira’s GODS Edition
Pride and glamour moved as one at Castle Ferreira‘s GODS edition in San Diego, where sculptural bodies dissolved into celestial costumes and a lineup featuring lilyisthatyou, Tommi Aura, headliner Nessa Barrett, Brenna Jordan and Evan of AS IF, Kerri Colby, and DJ Flabbergast kept the energy electric from start to finish.
Set within an imposing medieval-inspired castle, the space has become a key gathering point for Southern California’s queer nightlife scene. Its events are defined by elaborate themes, standout guests, and an emphasis on immersive, highly curated experiences.
Feathers and wings were part of a broader visual language that drew on mythology and cultural iconography, including elements inspired by Día de los Muertos and Indigenous traditions.
With a strict dress code that transforms each gathering into something between an extravagant runway and a living fashion exhibit, the castle has also hosted other themed events, including “Cine Horror,” where terror and blood took center stage.
Added to that are nights like Blood Ball and Pride Riot, where bold visual expression and collective celebration reached new heights, reinforcing Castle Ferreira as a recurring immersive experience, with each edition introducing a new narrative.
This is why major figures such as Kesha and Kim Petras have been part of these evenings, alongside cult favorites like Allie X, Rebecca Black, and Cobrah, in a curation that blends mainstream appeal with emerging talent without losing its identity.
The castle itself, with its stone walls, spiral staircases, and hidden rooms, becomes a living organism that breathes with each edition. Every corner shifts, every shadow is reimagined, and every detail contributes to an experience that dissolves the line between spectacle and reality.
At a time when everything feels accessible and repetitive, Castle Ferreira embraces the ephemeral, the unrepeatable, something that only gains meaning when lived once and then disappears, leaving behind little more than photos, a handful of videos, and the lasting imprint of a night unlike any other.
