FEATURE INTERVIEW:

TALK TO US ABOUT HOW YOU STARTED DJING AND WHAT SONG WAS A TURNING POINT IN YOUR CAREER.

It actually wasn’t my idea, it was my friend’s Jake who’s also part of Karol G’s team he called me and told me… you know what, there’s a good opportunity there for you to start somehow so I started learning and just after one month another friend of mine had this big event in Colombia and he “hired” me and my first gig was performing for one thousand people, and a lot of things happened there good and bad things haha.

BEING COLOMBIAN, HOW HAS YOUR COUNTRY INSPIRED YOU?

It’s not only part of my inspiration but is part of my core. Being Colombian is so deep in my soul that personally declaring myself as a Colombian goodwill ambassador haha. I am the best at taking the name of my country around the world, and I take it very seriously! I know our history, geography, costumes, all of the 32 capital cities our 5 natural regions haha, you name it, I know it and I really take too much pride on it so it really is a fundamental part of who I am as a person therefore as an artist.

WHO ARE YOUR MUSICAL HEREOS?

Beyoncé, Prince and Karol G, no need for me to explain why!

HOW DID DJ’ING ON TOUR OR KAROL G COME ABOUT?

I think it was meant to be I just happened to be on the right place at the right time. I was supposed to only do the after parties but I happened to arrived earlier because Karol asked me to come with her to hang out a little before the show, and the guy who regularly DJ’s for her had to cancel for the first four shows of the tour so, since I was already there I just jumped into the opportunity didn’t even though about it for a second haha.

WHAT IS YOUR WELLNESS AND BEAUTY ROUTINE WHILE ON TOUR?

I took my wellness very serious. I’m a gym rat so I go 6 days a week no matter how tired I am. I also have a very good relationship with food. I try as much as I can to eat healthy and natural as well. Tour life doesn’t always allow you to do so but I do fasting and that way I try to cope while being on tour.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUR 15 YEAR OLD SELF?

He always knew that all of the shit he was enduring one day would just go away, that kid, he really always knew! My only advice for him would be stop trying to impress people who don’t care for you, they would be impressed with you anyways just  when time is right.

WHAT SONG GETS THE CROWD HYPE ON TOUR?

Well for this particular tour “Si antes te hubiera conocido” was for sure the summer anthem, but on my regular shows “Dile” by Don Omar is the definitive anthem!

WHAT IS YOUR DREAM WITH YOUR MUSIC?

My dream is for my music to allow me to live all of those amazing things I’ve witnessed my favorite artists doing. I want to be able to feel for myself what they have made me feel through live shows, songs, videos, and also make art as a way to be a part of my generation.

HOW IS YOUR FIERCENESS AND CREATIVITY DISRUPTING REGGAETON?

I don’t think there is such a thing as disrupting reggaetón, but it definitely is changing the way DJ’ing is perceived. I’m definitely an artist with a huge stage presence and that’s what I tried to put on the stage every time I hit one. To me, it’s just a little opportunity to practice for when I have to play my own songs live haha.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE AND ARE U A GARCIAS BOY?

I’m a sexual vampire, more than a Garcias boy I’m a Garcias rockstar!

WHO ARE YOUR STYLE INFLUENCES?

Prince for sure! Everything that he did and wore, nowadays people like Tyrone Dylan and a guy from the UK called Rulfur I think those are my biggest inspirations.

WHAT IS ONE THING EVERYONE MUST TRY WHEN THEY COME TO COLOMBIA?

Try not to stay forever haha.

WHAT IS YOUR LIFE MOTTO?

They will ignore you, until they can’t 😉

YOU HAVE TONS OF TATTOOS, WHICH HAS THE DEEPEST MEANING TO YOU?

All of them are part of the same story but definitely my “ray of light” tattoo means a lot because of the Madonna’s album, which is my favorite of hesr and a huge inspiration for me as an artist. Also because that’s simply what I am, and what I always want to be for this world… a ray of light!

WHAT IS NEXT FOR YOU ON THIS SUPERSTAR JOURNEY?

My journey is definitely just getting started, so what’s next for me is to keep on working more and harder like never before! Releasing my first single this year, also USA and LATAM tour with my new DJ show and taking all over Colombia in December for sure haha.
