You’re not signed to a big label, and you like to be in charge of most things involving your music. What’s it like being a female boss in the music industry, and what difficulties have you run into by working more independently?
It feels great to not be signed, because I’m in control of everything and all of the money comes to me and isn’t split up different ways.
What was your inspiration for writing “Deepthroat?”
The inspiration for “Deepthroat” is just the love I have for my nails. I really love my nails and never want them to get messed up – ever.
Who are your musical idols and why?
My music idols are definitely Rihanna and Chance the Rapper. Rihanna because she’s very open about her sexuality, and Chance because he’s so real and independent. My favorite artist out of Chicago is Chance.

I actually first found out about you a few years ago because you offered a hotel and food to an LGBTQ teen who was at risk of homelessness, and it went viral on Twitter. Why, in your opinion, is it important to help those who are struggling?
It’s always good to help the people in need because you never know when you would be in need. Nothing lasts forever.
You started practicing poetry and music within your church, and your family is pretty religious. How do you feel that the church helped you musically?
Church helped me because it molded my writing skills to become the great writer I am now.
What do you have to say to the haters who say your music is “too dirty” or “too much?”
Haters that say my music is too nasty just don’t know how to suck dick.
What’s on your tour rider?
My mom. She goes everywhere I go.
