Bumble Just Donated Over $28k To Planned Parenthood
Just in case Bumble wasn’t already your favorite dating app, it donated more than $28,000 to Planned Parenthood this week.
On Thursday, Bumble posted the below photo on Instagram:
You probably were already a big fan of Bumble, maybe because of all the hot guys on the app, maybe because of Bumble’s dedication to stopping catfishes, or maybe because of their ban on mirror selfies.
But shit, now there’s no denying that not only is Bumble the app for women everywhere, but also an app that’s classy (and smart) af.
After all, it’s always a risky move for a big business to announce political affiliations (especially in such an emotionally charged election), so Bumble didn’t. Instead, they simply announced that they stand by Planned Parenthood, and they proved it by donating a dollar for every “like” they received on their Instagram post.
Because it doesn’t matter if you’re Democratic, Republican, Libertarian, or Independent; if you’re a woman you should support Planned Parenthood.
Naturally, there are angry conservatives lashing out on Bumble’s post saying how they don’t believe in abortions and are denouncing Bumble for doing so. But like many conservatives, they are clearly not educated enough to realize that Planned Parenthood does way more than administer abortions. In fact, abortions are a tiny fraction of what Planned Parenthood clinics do, and many don’t administer abortions at all. Instead, they treat and test women for STDs, offer birth control options, and even test for cancers.
Bumble will be donating $28,747 to Planned Parenthood as promised, and they wrote that they will show the donation on their Instagram story to prove that they weren’t just trying to get likes.
