One of Trump’s cronies admits he lied to the FBI about Russia
This is a huge development in the ongoing Trump-Russia investigation: former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn not only has been accused of lying to the FBI about his dealings with Russia, but he’s pleaded guilty to doing so.
Flynn pleaded guilty specifically to lying about his conversations with the Russian ambassador, which took place last December before Trump was in office. This is significant because Flynn was a trusted adviser to Trump — so the investigation is getting closer to Trump.

Flynn’s not the first member of Trump’s camp to come under fire for working with the Russians. Trump’s former campaign chairman, two other campaign aides, and his former national security advisers have been charged with felonies in connection with the investigation, according to the New York Times.
Still, Trump himself and members of his family have managed to avoid any charges thus far. Maybe they were smart enough not to collude with the Russians themselves — or maybe they’re just really good at dodging investigators. Only time will tell.
