Apparently Nobody Knows Who the Kardashians Are In Cuba

As we’ve previously told you, the Kardashians went on vacation to Cuba and had what looked like maybe too much fun.

Only it looks like we may have jumped the gun on that proclamation because you know what wasn’t fun?

The fact that nobody in Cuba knew who the Kardashians were so they had a really hard time getting people to sign release forms for KUWTK.

See, according to a source for Page Six“They don’t have reality TV in Cuba— the Kardashians aren’t a big deal.”

But actually according to the history books, this is just the tip of the iceberg of things they don’t have in Cuba.

We won’t bore you with all the details, but basically Cuba has had different things to worry about in the past 57 years since communism took over their lives, and so they’re not quite as technologically plugged in. Nor are they plugged in to the US tradition of celebrity culture, seeing as we’ve had an embargo against them since 1960, a year after Fidel Castro first came into power.

So it’s not just that they don’t have reality TV in Cuba, they also don’t really have smartphones or Internet access or an entire culture centered around worshipping celebrities and discussing every minute detail of their lives.

Bottom line?

The Kardashians got more than just a vacation from California when they went to Cuba — they also got a vacation from fame. Twenty bucks says the weren’t that into it.
