MUSIC HAS ALWAYS COME NATURALLY FOR BROTHER MUSIC DUO ROSS & ROCKY

If you ever grew up wishing you could be in a band with your siblings but quickly realized you didn’t have the musical gifts for it, you’ll probably be jealous of the duo Ross & Rocky. The brothers not only grew up together, travel the world and create music together – their love and loyalty to one another exudes through their music. If you want to get to know them a little better, keep reading below!

FEATURE INTERVIEW:

Being a brother music duo, can you talk to us about how you two decided to start doing music together?

We just started hitting the studio a lot together! We would write and record tracks, and as we made more, we figured it just made sense and would be fun to put some of these songs out into the world. – Rocky

From the beginning we’ve been playing music together. Our whole lives really, so it’s something that comes naturally to us. – Ross

What does your group name mean?  Where did it come from?

We feel it defines the time. We think it would be dope if you could look back on some of these years and think of our music.  – Rocky

The name came from a conversation Rocky and I were having. We often talk about science and time and psychology. – Ross

You all performed in South American at Lollapalooza Festival this year, talk to us about what that experience was like?

Lollapalooza was dope! Argentina was maybe the biggest crowd we’ve played yet. We always love going to South America to play gigs! The fans are incredible and really make us feel welcome. The energy was absolutely crazy, and it definitely fueled us through the set. – Rocky

It was almost hard to take it all in. The endless sea of people was absolutely unreal. It was a fun set for sure. Inspiring. It’s nice to see so many people have a positive experience with our music – that’s our goal with all of this. We want to feel connected to the fans and help them connect with each other through our songs. Getting to see that happen at shows is surreal. – Ross

Let’s talk about your new single, “Get Off My Phone”. Talk to us about the inspiration behind this track and what listeners can expect from it.

Honestly, this song is pretty self-evident. Sometimes songs can be a little more inconspicuous, but this one is straight forwardIt gets pretty annoying when your phone keeps trying to show you happy memories of a past relationship. – Ross

Are you all planning to release a new project this year? Is there anything you can tell us about it?

Yea, we’d love to put out some more music this year! It might be more singles, might be an EP vibe, might be an album. We’ll see how things are looking after this tour. We’ve put out a few singles already this year, and the reception to those has been great. We can’t say for sure what we’ll be putting out next, but you can definitely expect something new!  – Rocky

You’re currently visiting cities all across the East Coast on your tour. Talk to us about what you love most about being on the road?

It’s always cool seeing some faces that you know have been to a bunch of shows over the years. It’s really awesome to see people that have been there since the beginning still coming out to shows. The fans are really what make this whole thing happen, and we’re so thankful to everyone who has been able to make it to a show.   – Rocky

Tour is hard work for sure, but we really enjoy being out on the road. It’s always been a big part of our identity as musicians. When we play live, we really get to connect with the audience. You also never truly know what to expect from a show, which adds to the excitement of it all.   – Ross

You’re playing Bonnaroo this summer. Is this your first time performing at the festival? Anything you’re most looking forward to?

We love the festival life! The energy is always great. I’m really looking forward to running around a bit and seeing some of the other artists’ stage vibes! It’s also always dope to knock off one of the classics like Bonnaroo. That’s one that we’ve never played, and we’re really excited to finally cross it off the bucket list.  – Rocky

What’s next for The Driver Era? Anything you can share exclusively with Galore readers?

We have a European run on the books that is happening in September. It is a very exciting time for The Driver Era right now – we can’t say too much, but fans should keep an eye out for more big things in the near future!  – Rocky

You’ll just have to wait and see. 🙂 – Ross
