We are so excited to profile a leading figure In the beauty space, Cannelle Ferragu is a multi-disciplinary artist from Marseille, France. Her sense of personal style and ethereal aesthetic has amassed her close to a million followers on Instagram and TikTok combined. She has been featured by magazines such as Schon and Discrete and has shot campaigns for brands like Marc Jacobs and The Ragged Preist. Coming up this Summer, she has her First design collaboration with En Route jewelry.
As a content creator, Cannelle has worked with brands such as Viktor & Rolph, Mac, Valentino, Rimowa, SKIMS, Marc Jacobs, Betsey Johnson, and Nike. Cannelle is partnering with About Face Beauty, a line created by singer/songwriter Halsey, all the products used are all About Face Beauty!

BEING A WOMAN OF COLOR WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR THE BEAUTY CONTENT YOU PRODUCE AND HOW ARE YOU SETTING YOURSELF APART?
being a woman of color is my pride. black women are the blueprint and trendsetters of so many things when it comes to beauty and fashion so it’s important to me to be a part of Culture too you know. I am setting myself apart by changing my looks but always keeping my own identity and energy. every day is a new era.
WHAT FASHION TREND IS OVER IN YOUR EYES?
every fashion trend lives forever in my eyes. even if I find it “ugly” fashion is subjective so a trend will always stay a trend. I love how “dead” trends are always coming back and some people can rock it perfectly.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUR 16-YEAR-OLD SELF?
you are far from being a woman yet, even if you think you already know everything about life and about yourself it is not the case. you have so many things to learn. appreciate this beautiful baby face and beautiful body. everything you want to be and want to have will come in due time, you’re gonna work for this so don’t force anything to come faster than it should.
WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING WHEN CREATING CONTENT?
the most important part is very simple: having the right energy. don’t force yourself to do something that is not you and don’t be lazy. follow your vision until you’re proud of it, until it is how you’ve pictured it. if you have a specific vision and direction for what you’re creating do everything to make it happen and don’t let yourself or your ideas down.
WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR FUTURE?
shine even more in my twenties and travel the world. the rest is a secret. trust your lucky star
What does the word rebel mean to you?
rebel means not being afraid of listening to yourself before others. you break the rules and create your own, Being a rebel could change the whole path of your life, it can be scary but exciting too, I think people should definitely go for it.
At what point did you realize the impact of your social media presence?
I realized my impact when Kim Kardashian printed a picture of me for North’s drawings mood board. like yes, I want to feed the youth. thank you Kim ily x

Shave my eyebrows to draw them in any shape I want

How do you think the creator space has changed?
the current creator space is way more inclusive, it has changed social media for the better 100%. when I started Instagram in 2014 I wanted to be the perfect Instagram baddie, as a black woman from the countryside of France, only looking up to white rich American creators made me feel like I could never be “like them”. if you know you know. now I look up to the right people. all you need is to be on the right side of the Internet and find the creatives you truly love and that can inspire you or just make your days a little bit better.
