Although Selena Gomez is still committed to living out her fuckgirl dreams now that she’s single, she recently sat down and told Vogue Australia that she wouldn’t say no to a long-term bae, so long as he fulfilled her one basic requirement.
He can’t be terrified of her.
While for you and me this requirement probably encompasses 0-15% of the male dating population, it’s apparently a big deal for Selena.
“The guys that do have the confidence to hit on me are not necessarily my type, but they think they are because I’m a pop star, I sing songs, do movies, I like to feel sexy and confident on stage.”
A.K.A. she’s got 100 famous fuckboys trying to slide into her DMs and hit her up with some variation of the classic “u up?” text at 2AM, and she really wishes they would chill already.
“I’d be so stocked with a writer or producer or actor who is low-key, but those kind of guys are terrified of me!” Selena confessed to Vogue, adding, “I think people would think it’s kind of dumb [to date me]. Nobody would want to throw themselves into that situation where it was so heightened publicly, like why would they?”

Luckily Selena is too busy being on tour right now to seriously date anybody, but fingers crossed she figures out how to channel her inner Rihanna and change the narrative from “Nobody wants to date me” to “I’m not looking for a man.”
