But really, Sophia is just getting started in the music world.

She just released her first official single, “Connected,” which is about making connections with people and coming together to create one voice. But that’s not all she’s done, in fact, Sophia keep busy with a very popular YouTube channel  where she creates videos of amazing acoustic song covers of her favorite tunes!

Today, she premieres her awesome video for James Bay’s “Let It Go.”

Later this year, she’ll be dropping her debut EP in November and will be touring the US in December!

Check out the awesome video here, and then peep our Q&A with Miss Sophia below!

Out of the songs you’ve covered on your YouTube Channel, which have been your favorites? And are there any other songs you would like to cover in the future?

I like to change things up up a little every now and then for my viewers. One day I’ll sing ‘Work” by Rihanna and then ‘Love Yourself’ by Justin Bieber the next, both covers I’m really proud of, bot SO very different. Right now, I’m LOVING Frank Ocean’s new album Blonde so I’m working on some of his songs right now too.

What made you decide to cover “Let It Go” by James Bay?

I absolutely LOVE the lyrics so it was an easy choice. I love the song so much.

What is the concept behind the music video for “Let It Go”?

The concept behind the video is to let something go even if it hurts. Towards the end of the video I throw a hat off the roof. That hat symbolizes the last thing I have to let go, and just I let it go!

Who are some of your musical influences?

Taylor Swift is my biggest inspiration because of her incredible songwriting. I read a lot about her and how she got started. And since I write my own songs too, I can relate to her process and to her a lot. I also really admire Alessia Cara because she’s such a talented, humble and down to earth person.

What made you decide to write “Connected”?

Even though I’m only 15, I feel no matter what age someone is, their voice truly matters and I want to remind people of that, especially with what is going on in the world right now. Our voices are more important than ever, and by being connected, our generation could really make a difference and be heard!

What is the concept behind the music video for “Connected”?

The message of the music video is basically to emphasize the fact that by coming together and speaking up for what you believe, really can change things, and really can make a difference.

What message do you have for other young people about staying connected?

Everyone has dreams and passions and we can stay connected by being authentic and real to each other. At the end of the day, no matter what you do in life, that is what is most important.

Do you think it’s easier to be an artist in the day and age of digital music and Spotify? Do you think it’s harder to connect with people in terms of getting the music out there?

Yes, I do think getting music out there now is harder due to so many artists putting out new music because they have the ability to use Spotify and other social platforms. But on the flip side, there are so many avenues to get you message out to people and to connect with fans all over the world, so I think the digital world has helped artists in many ways, but can certainly hinder in other ways.

Most embarrassing thing that’s happened to you while on tour or while performing?

I was performing in DC one time for a show and something went wrong with the sound board and for a moment, all anyone could hear was just the drums! So embarrassing! Everybody looked so confused and I had no idea what was going on. Thankfully that should never happen again!

When can we expect to hear a full album or more new music from you?

Yes! I am releasing my EP in November.

What’s next for you? Is there an upcoming tour?

I’m going on Digi Tour in December which I’m so super excited about! We will be announcing the dates in the next coming weeks.

How can we stalk you and see your other covers?

All social media is @SophiaKameron Excited to chat with new friends!
