[PREMIERE]: Inas X’s “Stupid” Is For Anyone Whose Ever Had A Toxic Relationship
We’ve all been in a relationship that made us feel like a dumbass before, right? Well, so has Inas X.
Inas X’s latest song, “Stupid,” is all about that toxic relationship (or maybe an almost relationship) that you keep going back to no matter how much sh*t hits the fan, and it’s super relatable for anyone who’s felt like they were doing dumb shit cuz of a relationship.
We’re premiering Inas X’s video for “Stupid,” plus we talked to Inas X about her experience with toxic relationships.
Do you think that every girl has that one person they are “stupid” for?
1000%, and every guy too. There’s always that one person that makes you weak and makes you feel stupid, no matter how smart you are, but that’s okay. Even Superman has his weaknesses: Kryptonite & Lois Lane.
What are your tips for getting over this one person?
This song was actually about a toxic relationship I found myself in. It was unhealthy, but I got myself out of it and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It’s important to establish yourself and be your own person and find someone who makes you feel like you are one of a kind, irreplaceable, and amazing just the way you are. If they don’t do that, it’s better to be single and independent. Don’t let anyone change you unless it’s for the better.
Do you think it’s best to block this person out of your life entirely?
If they are not the right one, absolutely. It’s never good to have someone who doesn’t treat you the way you deserve to be treated. In my case, I’m a female, I deserve to be treated like a queen. If you don’t treat me the way I know I deserve to be treated, you can leave, and don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
How did you get the strength to walk away eventually?
I surrounded myself with a lot of love. Family and good friends helped me a lot, especially my Mommy. She always saves me. I prayed to God for endless strength and didn’t look back. It’s important to be able to move on and let go. Don’t dwell on the past, learn from your mistakes and move forward. There’s so many fish in the sea, don’t get caught up on a bad fish — just keep fishing.
Do you find that your friends are always right in the end when it comes to their opinions on your love interest?
[Laughing] Sometimes. I like to surround myself with people who always keep it real with me. My friends always tell me what it is even if I don’t want to hear it. If everyone sees something you don’t, it’s important to listen especially while you have that support system. Don’t stay in a situation that isn’t healthy for too long, it might be too late when you go to look for help. Take the help of others who love you and don’t be stupid for too long.
