On the evening of April 22, Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Terminal became the backdrop for one of BMW’s most ambitious events in North America. Guests including press, creators, and tastemakers arrived to a fully transformed hall, where BMW’s production turned one of New York City’s most iconic interiors into an immersive stage for the world premiere of the new 7 Series.
The details were deliberate down to the last touch. Guests sipped signature cocktails served with BMW-branded ice cubes while a DJ and live saxophonist set the tone across the room. At a dedicated station, celebrity chef Robbie Felice served a bespoke 7 Series pasta with caviar. Adding further depth to the night, the original first-generation 7 Series was on display alongside its successor, grounding the premiere in the legacy that made the reveal all the more meaningful.
At 7:00 p.m., BMW of North America President & CEO Sebastian Mackensen took the stage before handing the moment over to the unveil itself — marked by a live crooner and violists who drew the cape from the new 7 Series as the room took it in for the first time.
Throughout the rest of the evening, influencers and media captured the 7 Series against the hall’s celestial ceiling and landmark arched windows while guests explored the car’s standout interior features, including the new Panoramic iDrive system and crystal gear selector, well into the night.
