Premiere: Gamblers Sign To Curators, Share New Single “I’ll Be Your Boogeyman”
New York-based indie rockers Gamblers are stepping boldly into the future, set to make 2025 their biggest year yet. Fresh off signing with Curators, the label founded by the former head of Kitsuné (Two Door Cinema Club, Bloc Party, Daft Punk, Mark Ronson, Phoenix), the band is ushering in a new chapter driven by boundless evolution.
Gamblers have built a reputation for crafting indie pop-rock gems that stick with you. Their latest single, “I’ll Be Your Boogeyman” is a perfect example— an earworm that blends infectious hooks with haunting nostalgia. Drawing inspiration from artists like Paramore, The 1975, and Vampire Weekend, the track captures the lingering memories of past relationships that creep back into the present.
At its core, it’s a song about attachment, relationships, memories from the past that follow you into the present… that stalk you as long as you leave the window open for them to float in and haunt your dreams. It’s the photo of your ex that your phone decides to surprise you with. It’s about being held back by what you’re still holding back. But beyond its emotional depth, “I’ll Be Your Boogeyman” is, simply put, a banger—one that promises to get stuck in your head and haunt you forever.
“I’ll Be Your Boogeyman” is just the beginning. In a shift from their previous album and EP cycles, Gamblers will be releasing music consistently throughout the year, delivering a steady stream of fresh tracks fully embracing spontaneity and momentum.
On top of that, Gamblers gearing up for a busy 2025, hitting the road for tours and festival stops including The New Colossus Festival in NYC. Their live shows, already known for their high energy and tight musicianship, will be a key part of this new chapter, promising to showcase their dynamic sound and ever-growing catalog.
FEATURE INTERVIEW:
Congratulations on signing with Curators! What does this new chapter mean for Gamblers, and how has the experience been so far?
Thanks, it’s honestly just beginning, as this is our first release with them. So far so good though!
“I’ll Be Your Boogeyman” is a catchy, nostalgic track. Can you walk us through the inspiration behind the song, and how you came up with its unique sound?
I appreciate that. We’re kind of flying by the seat of our pants a bit because we weren’t actually planning to release music this quickly after dropping our album last year. I’m always influenced by doo-wop music from the 50s and 60s and I think it’s probably a bit more evident on this track. Also songwriters like Billy Joel and Bruce Springsteen. Not a very sexy answer but it’s the truth.
With 2025 shaping up to be a busy year with new music and more touring, What are you most looking forward to?
Definitely looking forward to hitting the road, this is going to be our busiest year by far with playing live. I’m also very excited about dropping these new songs and seeing how people react.
