We caught up with Lina to find out her favorite products of the season and her feelings about leaving the house without makeup. See what she had to say, below.
What do you think is the biggest misconception about being a “blogger”?
I guess the biggest misconception everyone faces when choosing to openly display themselves on the internet is that we aren’t real people with real feelings. I don’t care if you think my cats are ugly, your ass is getting blocked if you think you’re allowed to sprinkle any sort of negativity on my account.
What’s the secret to the best Instagram post? Or better yet, the secret to the best OOTD pic?
My camera wielding boyfriend, Devin [Laughs]. He has become an OOTD pro. He knows my angles, gives a little pose direction here and there, and he goes to great lengths to make sure my photo turns out well. We make a pretty good team.
If you had to wear one outfit for the entire year of 2016, what would it be?
This is going to be so basic of me, but I don’t care. My go-to is always an oversized t-shirt, cut off shorts, a bomber jacket, and my Puma Eskivas. They are just too damn comfy. I’m glad the sneaker trend is a thing because the “style over comfort” motto was really starting to do a number on me.
What’s the sexiest piece of clothing you own?
I don’t really dress for sex-appeal. You can look sexy in a turtleneck if you carry yourself confidently.
If you could ask Aaron Carter one question, what would it be?
Honestly, my one question would just be WHY?
Do you ever leave the house without makeup? Why or why not?
I used to be really self conscious about it, especially when I was having problems with my skin, but now I’m not wasting a drop of my $60 foundation on a trip to the post office unless Johnny Depp himself was there. Obviously, insecurities are still felt. But I’ve learned that every person on this planet has flaws, whether they choose to embrace them or not. Why should I be ashamed of mine? Plus, you can still enhance your natural beauty without makeup. Curl your eyelashes, brush your brows, dab a little Vitamin E oil for a dewy highlight, and own your beauty.
The most important beauty product for festival season?
Setting spray! Get yourself Urban Decay’s All Nighter Setting Spray and your makeup will last you through Coachella, the apocalypse, or whatever.
What’s your biggest tip to healthy skin?
Drink lots of water, use SPF everyday, and check the ingredients of the products you’re using! A lot of products actually have elements that can damage your skin in the long run. I always try to go with vegan and cruelty free brands with primarily natural ingredients. Using oils are also key in my regimen.
What skincare products are you in love with right now?
I live for Mario Badescu and Lush. They are the only products I’ve tried so far that I actually get great results from. I can’t go a day without Mario Badescu’s Rose Water Spray and Collagen Moisturizer with SPF and I use Lush’s Mask of Magnaminty and Cosmetic Lad Moisturizer nightly. Shout out to Hurraw lip balm and coconut oil as well!
What projects are you working on at the moment?
I’m really focusing on my YouTube right now. Starting a beauty channel has proven to be much more challenging than beginning my blog ever was. So much more goes into it and I just want to put out interesting, good quality content that my audience can learn from and enjoy.
