Born Ashley Harden from Mesquite, Texas, Imyounik has been immersed in music since childhood. Her journey began at just ten years old when a fifth-grade teacher recognized her extraordinary musical abilities. Scoring remarkably high on a school music test, she was encouraged to pursue music further. Around the same time, with the guidance of a family member, she began writing raps in her room—foreshadowing the artist she would one day become.
Imyounik’s passion for music and performance flourished through middle and high school. As a drum major at Carter High School in Dallas, she led crowds with confidence, realizing that music wasn’t just a pastime—it was her calling. Determined to chase her dreams, she moved to Atlanta after graduation, where she crossed paths with industry heavyweights like Ludacris and 2Chainz, hoping to carve her place in the industry.
However, as the music landscape evolved, so did her understanding of success. She realized that she didn’t need to be in a major music hub to make an impact. Returning to Texas, she honed her craft, silenced doubters, and built an ever-growing global fanbase from the ground up.
Imyounik’s talent and perseverance paid off in a big way. On May 4, 2023, her music video for “Amen” aired during a commercial break on MTV/Paramount. The video played an impressive 13 times, including a special Independence Day feature on July 4th, and amassed over a million views on VEVO.

Her momentum didn’t stop there. On January 22, 2025, “City on Fire”—a song inspired by the devastating Los Angeles wildfires—made its mark on iTunes, debuting at #22 before climbing to#19. In the process, she surpassed major artists like Eminem, Jelly Roll, and Kanye West, proving her undeniable presence in the industry.
More than just a song, “City on Fire” carries a powerful message. While filming a music video in Los Angeles, Imyounik witnessed firsthand the destruction caused by the raging wildfires—homes reduced to ashes, families displaced, and lives forever changed. Struck by the tragedy, she felt compelled to turn heartbreak into hope.Just a week after the fires began on January 7th, inspiration struck. A melody echoed in her mind: “Who lit the city on fire?” With urgency and emotion, she connected with her producer, recorded the track, and released it immediately—transforming tragedy into art and resilience.
